This might be why the M$M/Cheney energy docs remain silent on peak oil:
Collapse of society; riots; fear; violence; you name it.

If the masses knew that the fire of time in which they burn was about to be extinguished, what would you do?

So much for the untamed fire of freedom. Unless freedom means having nothing else to lose... and if that's the case, I don't like what is going to happen; because I wouldn't put it past the proverbial chess players to try.

:nuke: - it's not for breakfast anymore.

1. I think they don't talk about it because their plan is to sit back and
let 4 billion people die. They believe any effort to ameliorate the problem will only postpone it, encouraging or at least allowing additional population growth before the inevitable. As far as they're concerned, the only moral response is no response.

2. Yep, and they haven't the true intellect or imagination
to do otherwise.

We have solutions here and now.

Savage curtailment of consumption, restrictions on unions and businesses, emergency socialist measures... all while pursuing Fusion Energy. (1kg of fusion fuel = 20,000 kg of petroleum)

Everything that would get a politician lynched by the ignorant masses of decadent and lazy Americans is what we need.

3. Is it possible that other countries like Iran
are already working on this and THAT is why they don't want them to have nuclear anything?
The first country to get the physics of fusion worked out is gonna have one hell of an anergy export!

4. Funny you should say that;

Note the competition to host the research is mostly between Japan and France.

This could be what saves our economies, societies, and our civilization.

But will the petroleum companies let this happen?

I personally think they may try to sabotage the project.
