Harold Ford junior is going to be on the show talking about SS and other things. I'm excited about that! Can't wait. :) Just wanted to post.

Besides, he isn't caving on Bush's SS plan.

He's against SS so that's a good plus with me. He may be a DINO but a DINO is better than a republican. I do like mayor Corker (lived under him) but wouldn't risk it since he's republican with SS.

Tennesseans can breathe a sigh of relief, no matter who wins. Corker's a real fiscal Republican, not one of those Freepers.
I'll still vote for Ford, but I can live with Corker.

I think she's great. I saw her on an Alex Jones video speaking and also the Ohio electoral vote hearing. That was great.

She seems to be much more sedate. I've told her that she needs to keep the heat on.

but if you're suggesting that I follow democrats as they become new centrists (which is actually the old right wing), you're probably barking up the wrong tree. I'm always open to new theories and differing perspectives, but I have to tell you that since the days when I was working for John Anderson, I have watched the people's party become the second rate division of AmeriKKKa, Inc. No thanks bucko.

I, however, would rather have a conservative Dem than a whacko Freeper as my senator. It's not ideal, but it's a step closer.

It's our media, I'm tellin' ya. We only have freeper radio shows from sun-up to sun-down. And the newspapers, outside the larger cities, aren't much better.

Harold Jr. has really risen above his family, who are all in politics. Harold actually had to issue a statement distancing himself from his uncle's behaviour. He has a chance to win the Senate if Van Hilleary is the Republican nominee-- and he might be. That is why Tennessee now has a Democratic governor-- because Van Hilleary ran against him. So his statewide ambitions are part of the mix--plus part of his prep school background (patina) is showing. There are only two decent political leaders in this county, and Harold is one of them. The other is Shelby County Mayor Wharton, who probably has no further political ambitions. When these two leave politics, I see little hope.

So, he's trying to SOUND more conservative than he actually votes.

He probably will lose, but I'm still going to work to elect him. Besides, Tennesseans might get fed up with Bush's SS mantra and we love our Dem governor, so his chances are getting better.

He didn't talk much on anything else. :( Just about SS. Only problem with what he said about Bush sitting down with democrats about SS is Bush is so stubborn and he won't. I saw him on a budget plan hearing and he was talking about how the wealthy still have tax cuts when other people are suffering and the meadator got a real pissy look on his face. He didn't like that at all because Ford junior was talking about taking the tax cuts away from the wealthy and stuff. He also talked about how Bush's little SS stops are and he was at one and how Bush doesn't take question's from the audience and just had three/four other people there who say the exact same things and agree with him. Quite sad really.

He was in the audience clapping it up. I about threw up! He sickens me.

He may a Blue Dog Dem, but he's not part of the problem. As I've said upthread, I'd rather have a conservative Dem - who may agree with my positions 85 to 90 percent of the time - than a Freeper who agrees with my position NONE of the time.

Ford is APPEARING to be more conservative than he is, really. I've looked at his voting record and, other than his vote on partial-birth abortion, he really isn't all that conservative.

..my sixth sense tells me you're a Clark supporter. Good on ya mate. I like Clark as well. But if his tack would be to go center, he can forget about my support during primaries.

And I don't expect him to go center - but, he is PERCEIVED as "center," which will HELP him in the red states. People think Clark is center and he's not. He's very liberal.

Ford, as a black man, has to work at being PERCEIVED as centrist, especially in the rest of the state.

It really is just politics.

If he seems to be a DINO Bush supporter I don't know if I'd vote for him now. We don't need that on our side. I'd rather vote to get mayor Corker in so at least we don't have another DINO.

run as a Democrat for the seat.
