I saw something on TLC last night that made me think.......
I think the show was called the "Presidents Day-9/11" and mostly it was just a smoochfest concerning Bush. But later in the documentary they had an interview with Bush on Air Force 1 that took place just recently.

THey were asking him about 9/11 and the victims and how he felt about it.

The man started to cry. It wasn't thick tears and it wasn't just some little tearing. He has some rolling down his face and he was wiping them away.

And it got me to thinking. I actually felt bad for the guy. I don't like 99% of his policies. I think his administration has clearly distorted a LOT of things. He has screwed things up royally. So why do I feel sorry for him? Because he's clearly not a monster but the people advising him clearly are monsters. I feel sorry for him because he was stupid enough to believe the Cheney's, Rumsfeld's, Wolfowitzs... etc.

I feel sorrry for him because he has no business being President because he's clearly not capable.

He can turn the tears on and of at will. It was an act.

7. I don't know
I think it could be argued that this indicates that it was a LIHOP, MIHOP, or regular IHOP (That would be International House of Pancakes).

Maybe Bush took some really evil, twisted advice but is starting to see how wrong that descison was. And of course, if he talks, he dies. Its always been my theory that Republicans didn't have as much dirt on them as Democrats because Republicans kill anyone that gets in the way. It has to do with not valuing human life.

16. You're talking about a man who
mocked someone who was about to be put to death and laughed about it. A man who claimed 2001 was overall a great year for he and Laura and that he won the trifecta. He used to get lot's of enjoyment blowing up frogs and shooting his brothers with a bb gun. Need I continue? I don't buy this crying, it's as phony as his ranch and his flightsuit...

5. I don't feel sorry, not one bit.
The twinkle he got in his eye when he mentioned the execution of the James Byrd killers. His mocking of Karla Faye Tucker. And on and on. He IS a monster in his own right. A monster that cares for no one but his own selfish ass.

6. hmmm... guilt? or crocodile tears?
You are right, sgr2, he's entirely unfit to lead, but he has demonstrated nothing but contempt for humankind, so I'm sorry, but I don't feel compassion for him. I think in the end, karmically, he'll get what he deserves.

8. You sure it's clear he's not a monster?
One teary photo op (in front of cameras he knew were rolling) does not erase the TONS of smirking and inappropriate smiling he did after 9/11 (with the exception of a similar crocodile tears photo-op around 9/15 or so when people started wondering about all the smirking and smiling).

I wouldn't feel sorry for him. At his best, he's Tiberius*.

No sympathy for the original Tiberius or for this Tiberius*.

11. I couldn't bring myself to watch ...
that, as I frequent TLC.

Don't be fooled by the tears. Yup they were real alright. Unfortunately, he was crying because he is personally responsible for the deaths of over 3000 people. His tears only reflect his miscalculation of the death toll of the terrorist attacks. His neglegence in preventing them (before they happened), and stopping them (while they happened) and covering up (after they happened), is the reason all of those people died.

It's like the little kid that gets caught stealing something. He is crying because he got caught, NOT because he is sorry.

Do not fall for this crap. It is just Roves way of getting sympathy for this imbicile.

Cheers
Drifter

12. Turn off your MTV
MTV is the most lame, media-whore network ever concocted

It's run by stupid people for stupid people.

It's contributed HUGELY to the dumbing down of the American people.

Especially since they stopped Beavis and Butthead. :)

21. Sociopaths
do not feel real emotions, but many can learn to mimic emotions they see in others.

If anything, those tears were for himself; the rotten, cruel, pathetic excuse for a human being.

It doesn't matter that there are others pushing and/or behind him. He ultimately makes his own decisions.

17. Don't buy it!
I remember well how my alcoholic father used tears to drain every last drop of sympathy he could get out of us kids.

I bought it, and bought it and bought it until I didn't have anything left.

Dubya's personality is the same....he can turn the tears on and off at will to get the desired effect from his next enabler.

18. Hitler teared up when one of his favorite dogs died.
He showed genuine emotions and tears in private when his neice Geli Raubel killed herself, apparently on account of him. He could show genuine emotions. But he was a monster. There is no doubt of it.

I don't think Bush is as big of a monster as Hitler turned out to be, but this chapter in history isn't finished yet. What is a fact is thousands human beings have died because of something he has had a hand in. The death toll rises everyday. Who knows how much blood there will be in the end as a result of his acts.

23. Frogs, Firecrackers and Propaganda
The chimp is someone who spent his childhood sticking firecrackers up frogs' rear ends and laughing as he watched them blow up. He presided over more executions as governor of Texas than any governor in history. He has yet to attend a single funeral of a single casualty of his illegal and immoral war. He cuts the pay of soldiers while they are in Iraq and Afghanistan. He cuts the budgets for support programs for their families. He cuts veteran's benefits by twenty billion dollars over five years. He disgraces the military uniform by using it for political stage shows on aircraft carriers burning taxpayer dollars by the hundreds of bales per hour when he had been a deserter from his cushy influence-provided post in the National Guard during Vietnam, spending his time swilling booze and snorting coke while other young men fought, suffered and died in his place. He stonewalls any attempt to seriously investigate 9/11. He uses the firefighters and police in NYC on 9/11 for political posturing and fundraising, but cuts funding for programs that would support them and orders his EPA to lie to them about the serious dangers they face in their rescue and cleanup efforts because it would inconvienence his rich man buddies to have the stock market out of action for more than a day or two. This is the man who thought 9/11 and the 3000 people who died that day amounted to a trifecta payout he had just won giving him carte blanch for any sort of fiscal irresponibility he wanted to indulge in. He has looted the treasury (no Swiss bank accounts for him, he just gives it to his fat cat pals and they hold his share for him); he has gutted the Bill of Rights; he is doing everything in his power to reverse every environmental advance we have made in this country in the last fifty years. And finally, this man couldn't tell the truth to keep his head from being cut off. He doesn't know what it is. He has been lied to and been lying to others for so long the truth sounds like a lie to him.

Those certainly weren't tears of grief, you were seeing. They were probably tears caused by him suppressing laughter at the gullibility of the reporters who were interviewing him and the public he figured would see and react to them. If you felt sorry for him then slap yourself in the face and wake the fuck up. You just got jobbed by the sort of constant propaganda this guy uses to continuously manipulate public perception of him.

Sure, he's just a nice, dumb guy who is getting used by the bad guys around him. And I'm a reincarnation of Ghandi, too.

That is always a convenient way to produce tears.
