The Economy and Iraq are both lousy what will Bush run on?
Oh yeah, the economists say the economy will get better once those rebate checks get cashed (I'm single so I got a whole extra $5.12 in my check--whoopie I will try not to spend it all at once)but this has been a jobless recovery from the start and I don't think it will get much better. Unemployment is now 6.4% higher than the economists thought it would be and jobless claims also increased. No, even if there is some marginal improvement in the economy Bush still will have blown it by ballooning the deficit and the unemployment rate will not be anywhere near as low as it was when he became president.

Iraq of course was supposed to be his great triumph but now it appears to be turning into his biggest nightmare as more evidence is coming out that he cooked up evidence to support the war. The country is in chaos and our troops are demoralized and want to come home. Almost one soldier per day has died since Bush landed on that aircraft carrier.

Lets face it Bush has really no substative achievement to run on. Oh he will run on 9/11, but really what did he do? it is only a PR achievement. 9/11 can backfire in his face yet too--like what about the war on terrorism and Bin-Ladden? and what about the states not getting the money they need for homeland security? Finally the same question that is dogging Bush now on Iraq may come to haunt him regarding 9/11--What did the president know and when did he know it?

of Bush and Cheney showing the cowardly fear of one and the knowing evil of the other is all that is needed to turn the 9-11 issue into a nightmare for these arrogant bastards that is way beyond what the Iraq attrosity is doing for them now.

5. He'll tell us how wonderful Americans are and
how we're keeping the world safe from terrorism.

Everytime he speaks, he goes on about how terrific, how special the crowd is. He flatters and lies. That will be all he has to offer; fawning deception.

He's a psych student's dream subject.

6. He'll run on fear...
Fear that:
1. Treasonous Democrats will undermine national security,
2. Labor unions will destroy businesses,
3. Gays will want to impose sodomy on everyone,
4. Conservationists will destroy the energy industry,
5. ACLU will kick God out of churches,
6. The ol' devil lib'rul media will mislead the masses,
7. The big guv'ment will penalize the wealthy through high taxation

That's just a short list.

7. The sheeple don't need a SUBSTANTIVE reason to vote for Bush!
Don't you realize.....the MOST important thing to many Americans is the integrity that Bush has restored in the oval office?

8. You know the lawyers' saying?
If you have the law on your side, pound on the law.
If you have the facts on your side, pound on the facts.
If you don't have either the law or the facts on your side, pound on the table.

Here's the version for Republicans:

If you have international policy on your side, pound on international policy.
If you have the economy on your side, pound on the economy.
If you don't have either international policy or the economy on your side, pound on the liberals.

10. He will lie
about Iraq and about the economy, and his moronic followers will believe him. They will ignore the hundreds of deaths in the desert. They'll attribute the economic problems to the democrats.

12. He will show the captured "Deck of Card" guys.
And say lookit, we're winning the War On Terra! He will say "We freed the Iraqi's" and "Bin Laden and Saadam are on the run, no threat anymore."

And the people will feel all snug on their sofas and say: He makes me feel safe.

14. Gay Marriage Amendment
I wonder if Bush's only play is to go with his conservative base and try to energize it by stressing their issues.

16. What is the real unemployment rate?
Edited on Sat Jul-12-03 10:43 PM by imix
The government only counts people who are currently receiving unemployment benefits in the official unemployment rate.

So when you run out of benefits, you become excluded from the ranks of the unemployed, whether you have found work by then or not. This is according to a job training instructor from the California EDD that I recently spoke to.

The actual rate is probably 10% at least.

17. He's not a baby killer. Overturn Roe v. Wade...
It seems like that's what got a lot of my Catholic fence sitter friends to vote for him last time around...to my "shock and awe". I don't know if that would work this time...let's hope people regain sanity and some of this Christian fundamentalism dies down..
