Proof that the majority of the American people are legally "insane"
One of the favorite definitions used by politicians and others is that "insanity" is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. How does this apply to the American people?

First of all, they followed Bush with his ideas about taxcuts and the "people's money" and then they followed him to war on his ideas of WMDs and "mushroom clouds". It was all a lie.

Now he wants the people to follow him again on fixing Social Security. Do the people never learn? Is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results really the definiton of "insanity"? Are the American really "insane"?

1. I Don't agree
I don't think the evidence is in on Social Security, and I certainly wouldn't write off Bush's scheme as having definately failed. That said, all evidence right now is that the President's scheme has very little chance of passing right now. People are letting their representatives know.

3. That privatization scheme would be law right now if not for the Democratic
ability to filibuster. In fact Social Security would be GONE, alltogether if not for the ability to filibuster.

5. Boy do I not agree with that assessment
They would still have to go back home and run whatever they vote. How many senators could get reelection after voting to shut down Social Security? That's precisely why they have to keep pretending they are trying to save the program.

6. It would be fully privatized with the expiration date of about
a few days after the November election in 2008.

2. What if he goes the 'executive order'
route?

And who's going to stop him?
