1. Get Landrieu and Akaka in the primaries!
Why should we give party money to people without discipline and who screw us at every turn? Go after Holy Joe too.

2. I wonder if Feingold (speaking now) knows that it's pointless to try and
pass anything today. Byrd's amendment (Amtrak) and Cantwell's amendment (ANWR) both failed.

Shit. I'm going back to sleep.

There are strange things done in the midnight sun
by the men who will kill the world for oil.

The arctic trails have secret tails
that could make your blood run cold.

The northern lights have seen queer sights .....
but the queerest they ever did see
was that for money .....
"those thugs" would kill the earth, the sky, and the sea.

Big ups to Robert Service.

20. CNN quote Daschle in this story
uh, wasn't he defeated by Thune???

"While endangering one of the most pristine areas in the world, drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge would do nothing to make our country more energy independent," said Democratic leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota. He said none of the oil would flow out of the refuge for 10 years.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Senate on Wednesday narrowly rejected oil drilling in an Alaska wildlife refuge, rebuffing the Bush administration on a top energy goal it had hoped to win with a wartime security appeal.

They rejected the amendment today.

All the time, effort, and money spent on trying to stop drilling in ANWR was just made to be a total waste of time in 20 minutes worth of voting.

25. Understandable
It's depressing what happened. I've read things with a thread of hope left myself, and missed a date or two. You're not the one who is going to slowly ruin the planet with a mistake.

26. I see they paid a lot of attention to our emails and phone calls
yesterday. This is all so useless. Why should we even bother to waste our time and efforts on this party? They do not have a clue as to how they should stick together to get things done. Man I hate them. They disgust me!
