Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) pointed out that competing investigations during the Clinton administration did not prevent the House Judiciary Committee from proceeding with an inquiry that led to the impeachment of the then-president.

"I frankly believe that this is no less serious than what my colleagues thought the proceedings dealing with the president's impeachment were for them," she said. "This is a penetration of the White House, maybe a security breach, and I do not believe it can be answered with self-investigation."

It is a non-trivial, potentially very serious issue. And, those who were being serious about it were prevented from an ongoing effort to draw attention to the issue by a disrupter being rewarded -- they posted crap and instead of the crap being removed, the thread was locked.
