1. Sad
I still wonder why he said all he did for a while if he's really for it. Maybe he's really a republican and the show is supposed to be comedy or something? I don't know. It's sad really. :(

3. He's always been all over the map, politically speaking
and I don't see this as much of a turnabout.

Don't forget he lusts after Coulter.

I can't watch any of those guys. None of them is informing the public. They just invite guests to spew cant, not discuss issues.

4. Did you listen to the whole interview?
Bill said Iraqi's are better off without Saddam, it's good that Syria is pulling troops out of Lebanon, but America is NOT safer or better off TODAY because of what GW has done. IF a lot of the old battle cries die in the middle east, and IF Iraq electes a decent government, the World will be better in the FUTURE! Things are NOT better NOW. The real outcome will only be known decades into the future.

I despise Shrub! I hate the was in Iraq. But, if a sane & peaceful gov't is elected in Iraq, I have to admit he did a good thing.

IF, Iraq turns out to be a reasonably peaceful country with Saddam gone, it's a good thing, isn't it?

19. I have my own opinion for a plan to force something to happen.
The liklihood of ShrubCo doing it is another story.

I think we should plainly explain that the Americans came here to help you eliminate Saddam, and we've done that. We want to help train a military and a police force so you will be able to govern yourselves. That offer is open for the next 18 months. At the end of 18 months, we are leaving your country to you. It would be in your best interest to encourage your friends who are capable of service to your country to enlist in that effort so they could be fully trained when we leave.

I think there are lots of Iraqis who simply don't want to take any risks because the Americans are doing it, why should they. My plan would force the issue and demonstrate wether or not they really do want to govern themselves. If they don't, TS! That would only prove they need someone like Saddam as a hard ass ruler to keep them in line. If they take the responsibility themselves, then what we did actually worked out OK.

18. war wasn't necessary
An inspections process was necessary. A global coalition to force permanent inspections and open access was necessary. A global effort to stop WMD's was and is necessary. It was never necessary for us to go to war unilaterally to accomplish this in Iraq. If we'd continued the inspections, and squeezed Saddam out peacefully, we would have had a global resolution against rogue dictators with WMD. Instead, we've got more turmoil and less cooperation, weaker nations, which leads to more terrorists.

Since the left has never accepted the threat of WMD or terrorists, and laid out any sort of plan to deal with it, we're stuck with war as the only alternative and any success that comes is going to be spun as proof war works.

It's how they survive in the MSM.

How else do you think the worst show of all time (Dennis Miller) can stay on the air?

16. I can not believe this
Bill Maher was my political ideal. I based so much of my opinion on his way of thinking and suddenly he is a Bush supporter?! I can't fucking believe this.

I guess I still have john Stewart. I know he has said some positive things about the Iraq elections but he hasn't said that they were a success or anything.

I am truly crushed.
