Edited on Thu Mar-17-05 10:36 PM by seabeyond
will smith on i robot. today i was thinking about a couple friends i havent talked to since election. we arent mad at each other. i love them. good people. but i am still angry, and wouldnt do them any good to be around me. doesnt much matter what we talk about, i would probably take it to politics and remind them of something stupid they said

thinking of calling one this morning and then deciding not a good idea, i flashed on this comment from i robot and thought it totally appropriate.

i think we are getting real close to being able to say this to all our people from past election

2. "I told you so" Sweet!
Or my line, "Are you out of your fucking mind?" That one always proves to have a persuasive impact. Question their sanity. If they're real friends you can go at with them over politics and still be friends. I lived next to an uber Republican politico in the 1980's and we went at it pretty good but always liked each other. When he got slammed in the press (unfairly, took a fall), I called him (hadn't seen him for years). He was stunned and grateful and said I was the ONLY friend who called. It's all good with friends.

6. they arent political, hence the problem
they stay uninformed, admit to being uninformed, say the talking points.........

it would be fine if i was so angry. they are all really religious, church a couple times a week. mad at religion right now too, lol lol.

better to be a hermit for a while longer. the nifty with these friends, when i am in a better place, they will be there

7. idea for you
I have a few of those and before the election I start a total propaganda campaign. Have you heard about the Pentagon Report on eco-catastrophes; did you hear how much Iraq is costing; etc. Then I link it to * or Republicans. I make myself their news service. Then I ask them to vote for the Democrats. They refuse and I engage in a little banter laced with degrading remarks. When they give me grief, I become irate in a contained way and whine about how much it means to me. Then they give in. It takes a couple of months. I see it as my mission and usually trade off something with them, buy them dinner, take them to a club. It's the ultimate in retail politics. They still talk to me so WTF.

9. This is for guys. All my gal friends are Dems.
As I read your reply, I realized that: guys bond by degrading and offensive remarks, therefore, the more degrading and offensive I am, the more they think I like them, the more likely I am to slip through one of my secret messages:

Forgot to mention, the campaign is waged on all fronts, including liberal use of the internet with photoshoped stuff from DU (they love it). Johnny is a favorite!

Rock on!
