Scott Peterson.... Enough already!
I thought that the news outlets would now quit reporting about Peterson, until there are news: appeals or "humane" injection.

But, noooo.... Charlie Gibson on Good Morning America (to, presumably, someone at San Quentin): "give me a sense of Scott Peterson's first day..." I could have qualified for the Olympics the way I charged to grab the remote and to turn him off. And this is not even sweep month.

1. My thoughts have always been this---
They had a fight and he killed her while they were fighting and should have called police. Hiding it did the harm. He will be put to death for the way he got rid of the body and had a girl friends. Many men have girl friends when they are also having children and have a wife. And please lets not say we should go back to times when this was not done. It would be hard to find them.

2. OK. But he was tried and convicted and is now on death row
Why do we need to hear more about him? About his "first day in jail?" Who cares? What news value does it have?

3. If only because it would get the media to drop coverage
I wish someone would just stick him with a shiv because as long as he's alive the media will always find a reason to bring up this case.

You'd think this was the only case where a guy killed his wife given the pretenses they find in order to keep carrying on about it.

The funny thing is if he had killed Amber Frey instead of his wife this wouldn't have generated more than a day or two of local coverage.

4. Research: Divorced Women Bonanza
One of television's most coveted audiences are women 25-49. Today that means a large portion are divorced. Peterson plays into the evil of the "cheating husband" (a favorite divorce woman's topic) and this trial is all about how bad and evil men can be to women and how one was caught and being made to pay.

Like others, I could care less about Peterson's trial and the fact it was made into a public spectacle speaks of how corrupted the judicial system is getting by allowing the media to run trials before charges are even filed...yet alone a jury selected and a fair trial given. No matter what a scumbucket Peterson was, do you really think he got a fair trial?

However, the media has found gold in the "spurned woman" complex. Look at the topics on daytime talk shows, the marketing push to single-parent women and you'll see how this "hot button" is being played to draw audience and ratings...and the many big money advertisers that come with them.

5. Yes, I can see this topic during the later shows like the View(?)
and the other Oprah's wannabes

But this was at 7:15 am, when most watchers, I think, are regular working people wanting to hear what happened during the night in between grabbing a cup of coffee and (hopefully) GoLean Crunch cereal while hurrying the kids to get dress and preparing their lunches..

8. I agree, and enough with the jurors already, too.
Especially that one with the red dye job. Just go back to your regular lives, please.
