1. I'm not because I don't receive whatever channel he's on (HBO?)
What's his topic? Been hearing about him drinking the kool aid lately. Too bad--I used to like him back in the day.

2. Me..if I remember to...
Edited on Fri Mar-18-05 11:14 AM by truebrit71
Is he still trying to get more wingnuts in his audience, or has he back to normal? I must confess that I usually make a point to watch his show, especially if there are interesting guests on, but I missed last week's because he had mentioned the week before he wanted more Nazi's in his audience...

3. There are many threads in General Discussion that...
point out that Bill Mahar is now a Bushbot. He thinks that Bush deserves respect because Iraq is doing "well". Show Bill the door, don't watch his show. Besides, he likes mAnn KKKoulter.

8. I have always had a problem with his "friendship" with that..
Transexual nazi....

I remember last season he had "her" on and Richard Belzi (sp?) made like he was going to leave the set...Maher told him to sit down, and as soon as "she" was finished (after being thouroughly booed by the audience) he LAUNCHED into her...calling her a nazi-liar....

It was sweet....

4. Here's The Guest Line-up
his week, Bill welcomes guests Gov. Frank Murkowski, author Thomas Frank, actor Jason Alexander, Fmr. Gov. Christie Whitman, and Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.

Is Jason Alexander a thug? All conservative show tonight, could be a real barf fest. I'll probably tune in, if it gets too unbearable - I've got plenty of movies I've recorded on the DVR

10. Wrong, Thomas Frank Wrote What's The Matter With Kansas...
but I'm gonna be watching basketball. I may tape and watch the Frank portion only. The rest are thugs, especially the Cuban Ross Lehtin...I hate her...

I hear he is gonna make sure his audience is 50% freep, so that should be a real trip...

All in all he's descending into Millerdom...as near as I can tell...

36. She Is A Complete Idiot
Edited on Sat Mar-19-05 02:01 AM by loindelrio
Maher showed historic and current pictures of Mt. Kilimanjaro to show how the 'Snows of Kilimanjaro' are no more.

The GOP idiot asks "Why don't you show the picture of the volcano in Hawaii or Mt. St. Helens, why are you just showing . . . global warming here but not global warming there".

Then Maher had to explain that Kilimanjaro has had snow for 11,000 years +.

What do these idiots have against admitting that there is global warming. Are they afraid that if the curtain is pulled back on one of their charades, the whole house of cards will come crashing down.

6. Isn't tonight "conservative" night?
I seem to recall it being touted specifically as "conservative" night a couple of weeks ago. They were trying to get more conservatives in the audience, but especially for this one.

I think I'll wait till later in the week to watch it, depending on the reviews.

20. Same here
I've never believed it was necessary for a comedian to share each and every one of my views. His show is invariably interesting, informative and funny - that's good enough for me.

Besides, in a couple weeks he'll be back in everyone's good graces again - it happens around here time after time; one day "we" hate so-and-so, the next day you'll see a thread endorsing him/her for Prez.

Oh, and welcome to DU.

13. disgusting ratings whore
this season of real time has completely sucked. i've watched almost every episode since it started, and I don't know if it's that I read a lot more now/listen to AAR/etc but seriously, bill never has a damn clue what he's talking about. so disappointing -- it's so obvious he doesn't read or listen to talk radio.

32. Probably the same people who still watch the MS news networks
and then complain about the media.

If you are watching them, you are the problem. They will ultimately only do what you tolerate.

Same with Bill Maher. If his viewership isn't negatively affected by his right wing pandering, why should he stop?

35. Open to WHAT?
For the love of whatever is still worth believing in, WHAT is getting into people?

One should always have an open mind, and consider all opinions, but this is getting silly. What does having an open mind have to do with PANDERING to these thugs and giving them credit for something that is OVERWHELMINGLY and UNADULTERATEDLY UNTRUE?

These people deserve credit for NOTHING!

We attack a country that was absolutely no threat to us, had no weapons, we kill 100,000 innocent people, we lose over 1500 of our soldiers, and create one of the most ridiculous and criminal quagmire's in history. These people destroy our economy, destroy our Civil Rights, destroy our environment, and are slowly but surely turning us into a Fascist Police State even Orwell himself couldn't have dreamed up.

And the above synopsis I would be willing to bet doesn't even scratch the SURFACE of what the overall picture of darkness these people have painted truly is.

I'm sorry, ANYONE who wants to give them anything REMOTELY RESEMBLING credit for ANYTHING has completely lost their minds.

After all these people have done, after all they PLAN to do in the future, how can a free thinking individual who hasn't sold out, been threatened, or decided to give in and play ball POSSIBLY support or be positive of ANYTHING these people have done.

You know what, I am an Agnostic, and I have often chuckled in the past at some suggestions that Bush might be the Anit-Christ, but after these past few weeks, things are getting insane enough for me to finally wonder in desperation if there might ACTUALLY be something to it.

What Else other that drinking the Kool-Aid, going along with the program, going to the dark side, etc. could it be?

At this point we enable these criminals at our peril.

I'm really starting to believe this country cannot survive this point in it's history.
