TechTV used to be good before it merged with G4. They had people
like Patrick Norton, Leo Laporte, Becky Worley, and others. It was a great place to pick up computer tips and keep up with industry news.

Now all they have are fast-talking, hyper-excited hosts and shows like "Cheat".

2. that what happens when you try to fix something that ain't broke
someone with the 'bright idea' to merge the two then lose the soul of what made the network what it was... and they'll go on to ruin other networks and water down the programming. Funny how tv works. The worse you are in management decisions, the more you get rewarded.

6. It's like how the Time-Warner/AOL merger nearly broke the
company Ted Turner built. CNN royally sucks now.

7. G4 sells out to the VG companies for air time
Not just the commercials: the shows, too. They had an entire day devoted to GTA: San Andreas and Halo 2. They did not devote an entire day to Doom 3 or Half-Life 2 or World of Warcraft. (PC software companies have less money to spend on advertising.)
The only show that I watch that was carried over from G4 is Cinematech. And that's uaually just on as background noise.

8. I miss Patrick!
He was such a cutie, even with that horribly dressed Roni Lynn as his co-host. I still love Morgan and Adam on Xplay, but I can't watch Laura and Tina now without Scott. :(

10. I agree...
...Screen Savers was always worthing watching. Now it is like the high school AV club has a show.

Most of them even have trouble talking.

11. Well the only good thing I've noticed is Adam and Morgan have gotten
quite a bit more political as of late. Always coming down on the progressive side. 3 different times they spoofed on the RW Ive seen in the last few months...

But everything else has really sucked downwards.

12. There seems to be a consensus here
I haven't payed for cable in years but any time I was staying somewhere that had cable with TechTV, that was pretty much the channel I gravitated to. We might be a small part of the global community but we should use the republican tactic of screaming loudly about being victimized. If they want to serve the hard-core gamers, fine, but techies are still a market to be served.
