Anyone care to guess what Hannity is talking about?
Edited on Fri Mar-18-05 03:39 PM by underpants
I know probably not but somehting rather funny just happened on his show.

Santorum, Gingrich, Terri Schiavo's brother (oops I just let the cat out of the bag), and a woman who was in a coma -Karen or Kathie Allen??- are coming up but first

Hannity had on his "old friend" Randall Terry from Operation Rescue. This guy got on and went off (brief synopsis)

~"...look we worked throughout the 80's to get a Republican congress for President Reagan and we DELIVERED this last election for PResident Bush the Conservative the Right to Lifers all of us DELIVERED this election and now it is time to pay up! We don't want rhetoric WE WANT ACTION!!! Speaker Hastert if he has to needs to call everyone back in 'Sorry ladies and gentleman but you aren't going to be able to eat steak and porkchops during Holy Week you need to come back in and do this NOW' That is what we demand Sean. The exact language in the Senate bill that is what is on the table and that is what we want..."

Hannity couldn't get a word in edgewise. He kept trying to cut in but Terry wouldn't let him. Finally Terry took a breath and Hannity cut to a commercial.

Newt is on now.

1. Newt says the judge in the Schiavo case should be impeached
Held in contempt and impeached.

Newt doing his "activist judges over the last 50 years" speel.

6. Newt's wife was denied a feeding tube
it would have gotten in the way of signing the divorce papers.

That hypocritical slimy sleaze-bag piss-ass excuse for a man defies description (although I gave it my best shot).

Newt strives to live up to your expectations every day. Words can only do so much when repeated punches to the kidneys are really appropriate.

They tried the subpoena trick and that didn't work. What other options would they have?

I just thought it was funny how they are starting to make demands and if they aren't met they could pull their support and MONEY.

Hannity couldn't stop him. I hope all those fundies were listening and got their marching orders.

in the eyes of the mindless faithful by climbing up on Terri Schiavo's hospital bed and stealing the spotlight. It's not about her, it's about sanctifying DeLay.

When I was pg during his "operation Rescue"

we were poor. I went in very obviously pg to a planned parent hood to talk about WIC and money help.

He tried to "counsel" me

what a fuck. He is ignorant and dumb

We have them here in Richmond-basically screaming at pregnant women to make sure they are shamed into not having abortions. They must assume that everyone pregnant woman considers it.

18. After reading his bullshit more closely,
it sounds to me like he considers this a make-or-break moment for Chimpy. The right-to-lifers think they "delivered" the White House to Chimp, he owes them big time, and now is the time for payback. Between the lines I read, "if he can't produce a victory for them on this all-important issue, then what good is he to us? We'll just go out and throw out support to a real god-fearin' man!"

Like poop through the hourglass, so are the "Days of Our Lies." Hold your nose, everyone!

27. But most importanty, trouble for Chimp, I hope.
He's promised the moon to the religious right in exchange for their blind support in the name of Jesus. If he doesn't deliver on those promises, and I don't see how he can, he's gonna have hell to pay for this bunch of fanatics. Of course he'll just blame the heathen liberals for any broken promises, ("I tried, but those Dems wouldn't let me!"), but if there are enough broken promises, he's going to be spending a lot of time spinning the truth and defending his own sorry ass!

16. Randall Terry is making the exact point...
Thomas Frank makes in "What's the matter with kansas?", though Terry would not realize it or admit it. That is, the social conservatives have delivered control to the repubs, and the expected quid pro quo was that they'd get Roe overturned, gay marriage ban etc. But what the repubs give them instead is tax cuts for the wealthy, deficits for our kids, and jobs shipped overseas, corporate giveaways. Yet it is the religous right who is getting screwed, along with us, because its their jobs, their kids, their taxes, not just ours. So Bushco and the neocons grin and praise the Lord, but deliver only to big business. I'm surprised its taken this long for the idiots below to realize they've been used like a cheap hooker. Deals made with the devil rarely work out for good. The social conservatives sold thier souls, and Bushco and pals are who benefits, not some working stiff in Wichita making $11.00/hour.

This is Sean Hannity you're talking about, right? He couldn't get a word in edgewise? This whole thing becomes more surreal and Kafkaesque by the minute, I tell you.

I don't suppose we could get Randall to give Alan Colmes some lessons in Hannity-handling, could we?

26. This is reminiscent of the rise of Iran's religious state.
Edited on Fri Mar-18-05 05:10 PM by Stirk
Wealthy businessmen supported alot of fundamentalist leaders, hoping to destablize the Shah's government and seize power for themselves. But the fundamentalists didn't need them at all. We all know how that ended.

Republicans have a tiger by tail here. In their pursuit of power, they recklessly turned the religious right into a voting block. Symbolism and rhetoric won't work anymore. The fundamentalists want their agenda written into law, and they won't take any excuses.

28. tell Hannity that these are Scalia's words:
"The various opinions in this case portray quite clearly the difficult, indeed agonizing, questions that are presented by the constantly increasing power of science to keep the human body alive for longer than any reasonable person would want to inhabit it. The States have begun to grapple with these problems through legislation. .....While I agree with the Court's analysis today, and therefore join in its opinion, I would have preferred that we announce, clearly and promptly, that the federal courts have no business in this field."

Cruzan v. Director,497 U.S. 261 (1990)(Scalia, concurring)

Then watch his head explode.

29. Randy Terry
I worked for years in upstate NY and ran into Terry often - we were always on opposite sides of the issue - be it HIV Education or choice.
He is a publicity hound dog using the pro-life movement as his road show - and now he is using this family.
he is shameless, corrupt and hypocritical- but then again so is most of the congress.

37. Not a moment too soon
When the p.o.'d fundie supporters finally figure out that, by way of their deal with the devil, they, too, have been hoodwinked, some overloaded fuse is bound to blow. Someone, somewhere is going figure out that the first ones to blow the whistle on these huge frauds will get preferential treatment. The landslide will begin.

38. But the fundie supporters are so easily lied to and fooled.
Delay and the other crooks will pass some unconstitutional law that will force the re-insertion of Mrs. Shiavo's feeding tube. The law which will rightly be ruled unconstitutional will be tossed then comes the screaming about all those "activist judges

Believe me, Delay, Frist and the other rethugs will plot all this weekend about how to keep Mrs. Schiavo's heart pumping till the midterms.

In the end, activists judges, dems and the gay agenda will be blamed....didn't you get a copy of the play book?
