Edited on Fri Mar-18-05 06:22 PM by formerrepuke

from RawStory- and apparently not available at GQ online:

"...there's clearly a gay Republican mafia..there's one in every office."

10. On one episode, a reporter for a college newspaper
was led to believe that George and Jerry were a gay couple.

She wrote a story about Jerry that suggested he was homosexual. Jerry wasn't too concerned, because it was just a college newspaper. But it was picked up by the AP.

So, a running joke through the episode involved Jerry or George lamenting the fact that someone thought they were gay. It was always followed by "Not that there's anything wrong with that"

ie:

"She thinks we're gay! Not that there's anything wrong with that"

14. The OP Changed The Tagline...
The tagline mentioned gloryholes..

I don't care if you are gay, bi, or strg8 but I do find gloryhole attraction somewhat peculiar...

11. A "Seinfeld" episode....
in which two main characters (Jerry and George) are wrongly 'outed' in a newspaper article after a misunderstanding. Jerry's response: "We're not gay...not that there's anything wrong with that."

15. I'll explain Seinfeld
There was an episode where someone was gay and everyone kept saying, "Not that there's anything wrong with that" when referring to this person being gay or other gays. It was just funny because they were all trying to be so politically correct and they repeated the same sentence over and over.

Now that I've written that I realize that Seinfeld IS really about nothing! (very funny though)

4. You drew attention AND offended. And your link is broken,
so I couldn't see if that was Raw Story's headline. It is offensive and I hope you change it.

13. Great. Thanks. Now that's done, here's my opinion: Outing is wrong.
Edited on Fri Mar-18-05 06:46 PM by Bertha Venation
I don't hold w/ outing anyone. Hypocrisy be damned: it's not ours to go digging for "secrets" on anyone. Anyone bad enough to REQUIRE that their lives become an open book will have it come upon themselves in due course (look at DeLay).

And the last time I checked, being gay is not bad (I defy anyone here w/ a different opinion to speak up).

AFAICS, being gay and a Republican is not in itself hypocrisy. Why not? Because one can't choose to be gay. And while one does choose one's politics, being gay does not necessarily inform one's politics. If a gay person chooses to be a Republican, who am I to judge? It is not up to me, and it is not my place nor my right to out them.

It's been debated long and often on DU. Chances are this thread will go very long and have deleted posts.

Welcome to DU. :hi:

9. I hope they do expose the Gay Republican Mafia
Being secretly gay is part of how these people are controlled by those in power. How would they explain being gay to all their lame Republican friends living in their fake Republican world where everything is supposed to be perfect? It's a true don't ask/don't tell policy - where gay republicans will do ANYTHING to make sure the truth does not come out.
