Is there an official estimate of the number of civilians that Saddam supposedly murdered while he was in power? If a number can be found... how does it compare to the number of civilians this administration has murdered?

1. it will be a challenge to find truth
the easy number bantered around, over 300k in his time. who is to really know. they talk the mass graves. now it is said the mass graves is a result of the shiite uprising after bush 1 war when we encourage the uprise yet gave them no support. also on the kurd massacre with chemical weapons, there is the open question of whether that was truly the action of saddam or was it iran. both were using chemical. it is said the shemical is what iran was using. and htey thought the kurds were out and was iraqi's hiding in that town. that is what was being reported, yet was set to the side for bush 1 gulf war

there are over 100k dead from bush. i believe that is a way low number. not to mention all the uranium in ground and the long term effect for both our soldiers and iraqi's

What a terrible time to live in that part of the world. I haven't come across any mention of how many Saddam may have murdered. I know that estimates of 100,000 to 150,000 civilians may have been killed since the U.S. invaded. How many of those could be attributed to the insurgents I don't know. They certainly don't discriminate on who they seem to blow up. But I am sure the "Shock and Ave" campaign murdered tens of thousands. When it comes to killing civilians, it sure doesn't seem like we try to hard to avoid them. I watched a PBS program awhile ago on the initial invasion and they stated we tried to hit Saddam 40 to 50 times with cruise missiles. Of course we know now we failed each time and killed civilians on every strike.

with that...

Thanks for the information...

3. I have heard 1 Million. That is if you add all the dead Iraqis
& Iranians from the War Saddam started (at the behest of the USA) with Iran. And the people he murdered & gassed. And just your regular every day sociopathic stuff.

But I don't know for sure. I mean if you add in the 50 thousand who were starving under UN sanctions for 13 years... that add up. But again.. we do not know - exactly.
