How much does the USG owe the Federal Reserve?

I guess everyone is well familiar with the national debt clock at http://www.counterpunch.org/hastings03192005.html It now says the debt is growing at $2.35 billion a day as the raid on the treasury continues.

This relates to this thread where I began an inquiry into the Federal Reserve- http://tinyurl.com/6mbma After reading Kennedy called for dismantling of the Federal Reserve that is owned by who knows what individuals and banks and not in anyway the USG, it seems this is one huge issue that is never talked about in the controlled media.

Links from the National Debt clock talk about the USG owing the Federal Reserve. The big questions are how much does the USG owe this corporation and does the Federal Reserve make a profit and pay taxes?

I must say that the is the most intriguing subject of study before me.
