Bankruptcy Bill: I have an Idea.
Edited on Sun Mar-20-05 07:13 PM by indianablue
I am currently paying off my credit card I have 1,800 on my credit card and I am finished.

What I plan on doing in the future is when I get one of these 'Offers' I am going to rip up their application and write letter telling them that the new bankruptcy bill is the reason.

2. That just may work
A lot of people would need to do it, but it has potential.

3. Make sure you use the prepaid envelope
and write your letter very large, on very heavy paper.

6. You can also write "Refused-Return to Sender" in big letters
across the unopened envelope. They then have to pay the return postage as well.

I predict the people who can no longer file for BK will just not pay their bills. Eventually, the collections agencys will give up when a bill becomes to expensive to pursure.

The BK bill will not save the credit card companies money If people don't have the money to pay, then they can't pay. If their wages are garnished to pay CC companies, they will work under the table, or not work at all.

10. I wrote "return to sender" on one of these offers,
left it in my mailbox. When I returned home the carrier had written on the envelope that I would have to pay to send it back.

I'm going to check this out at the post office, but does anyone know for sure what is the case on this?

7. Why not make yourself feel good and do a public service at the same time?
Stuff the prepaid envelope with as much of the Sunday paper as you can & send it back.

It makes you feel better & reduces the amount of 'stuff' going into your local landfill.

8. brilliant!

This is a brilliant idea. I get at least 3-5 of these damn offers a week and usually just toss them. Now I'm going to create a form letter that I can just print out multiple copies of and stick in their envelope and send back to them. Yes, you can simply write "return to sender" on the envelope, but I do think it's better to send a letter saying this is specifically because of the crappy bankruptcy bill they've forced down our throats. Great plan!!

9. congratulations on being nearly out of thrall!
The day you make that final payment and send the card in clipped into little pieces is a great one.

You can buy a cheap shredder at any discount house for under $20. That's what I use for the stacks of credit card comeons that choke my mailbox. If it has my name on it, it gets shredded.

I should start sending in the envelopes with "Not until Bush is gone and your bankruptcy protection destruction laws have gone with him" printed out on small pieces of paper.

Let the assholes know they've cost themselves suckers.
