Meme du jour: High gas prices are the result of bad republican policies.
It makes no difference if this is true or not. I for one firmly believe that high gas prices are inevitable.

But we could make this stick and kick all their bloated asses out.

Discuss.

Tip o' the hat to Thomas Frank. Maybe we can make it about economics after all.

1. since the repukes are in total control
of all three branches of government, I don't know how you can blame high oil prices on anyone else. They could have put into effect energy saving policies, etc, but they are beholden only to Big Oil. Another point to make when you talk to people.

The reasons don't matter. Most Americans don't care or cant follow a logical economic/political argument anyway!

2. I agree
I keep thinking of those tapes of the Enron employees making fun of the California people who were paying high heating bills because Enron and other utility companies were playing games with the prices. There was a shortage! Sure there was a shortage.

We may have a problem because of our oil dependency down the road but I think these high prices are a result of the republican administration playing with the markets to drive prices up. Gas prices have gone straight up ever since Bush took office.

I think they are playing games with the prices like the did in California.
