brutal police tactics in Chicago....hauled off by cops (PHOTO)

seems that FREE SPEECH disappeared.....

A protester is arrested after refusing to move from the street during a protest on the second anniversary of the US-led invasion of Iraq (news - web sites) on Dearborn Street in Chicago. President George W. Bush (news - web sites) defended his order to invade Iraq, hailing the campaign as a landmark event in the history of freedom(AFP/Getty Images/Peter Thompson)

1. Whats brutal about it?
I've been picked up and carried away by cops a number of times. Disrupting by just sitting there and not moving is a common protest tactic. The cops have to move you if you don't move voluntarily...

2. Don't see any brutality here...
...now if they were dragging somebody, it might be brutal.

If a protestor under arrest 'goes limp' - they get carried off, it's that simple.

4. I've gotta say Diamond the cops dont seem to be out of hand
and in some ways seem "reluctant". their faces dont show joy or hate, maybe just having to do something they dont want to??

5. I was there in '68 and yesterday -the anti-demonstrator mood is just
the same - they just weren't sufficiently provoked yesterday as they were before.

6. I saw the Chicago Police Riot live on TV in the late '60s....
...what they did then is a FAR cry from what I see in that photo.

Nope...no brutality that I see.
