1. Some say them autoworkers make too much money already
Edited on Sun Mar-20-05 09:30 PM by NNN0LHI
Of course this comes from the ignorant people who don't realize that their own wages and benefits are directly tied to what the autoworkers receive. When autoworkers get a raise that sets a higher standard for all wage earners everywhere. And when the autoworkers pay goes down or stagnates so does theirs. Funny how that works.

2. I agree with you..
I know many people hate unions say they are corrupt etc. Yes any big organization has corruption but Unions such as UAW have done a great service to this country.

They helped create a middle class by demanding fair wages, almost everyone who punches a time clock or works for someone else has benefited in some way by collective bargaining.

People forget history.

5. Yes. and look at them getting a HUGE 2.4% profit share while the execs
are getting 200-300%...

Our fair City (Detroit) is becoming a ghost town of "For Lease" signs in second and third tier supplier shop windows.

3. WOW!!!! Earnings 80% below forecasts.
Maybe they could outsource their CEO's job to India for about $50 a year, instead of laying off 25% of white collar workers.

4. Here's a link to GM by email with info on corporate responsibility..
http://www.gm.com/gmcomjsp/contactus/gmcorpcit_comment.html

Fire it up!! I asked them why they were considering laying off rank and file workers for poor management decisions while these same managers kept their cushy jobs. Give 'em hell about it and add the word "boycott" in there to boot. Damn corporate parasites!
