Is anybody disgusted with the Bushites involved in Schiavo case?
Edited on Sun Mar-20-05 08:49 PM by Cascadian
All of this energy and of what little money the Federal government has to devote time to what is suppose to be a state case. I am just sickened. The federal government HAS NO RIGHT to interfere with an issue that should only involve the local and state courts of Florida.

Once again, the Bushites are messing around in Florida. My belief that something more sinister is in the workings. The Bushites in D.C. want to bring in more control over the country. This could set a precedence to other issues throughout the country. They could start limiting or even banning demonstrations for example.

As for Mrs. Schiavo, she is gone. The more you keep her alive, the more she is suffering. I believe her husband wants to end her suffering as a vegetable and therefore should pull the plug. My fear is if he succeeds, the state of Florida (via Bush and his goons!) will file criminal charges against him.

This is one big mess and the real losers are everybody regardless of what happens.

1. The loyal army of Bush Crusaders love this case
Constitution and law be damned, we gotta keep her alive as long as possible coz it's God's will.
And we all know that Bush has a direct line to God.

determined.

11. If it is God's will

3. Yep.
Meanwhile kids go to bed hungry, people are living in the street (including veterans), families hope their soldier husbands and sons live to come home from Iraq, people can't afford to go to the doctor or buy medicine, our schools are underfunded and falling apart....

4. And to think Bush is going to sign this bill without even looking at the
details of the Schaivo case much less the Bill it's self. Ignorance is bliss but it's one hell of a fucked up way to run a country.

5. It's 1984 come to life.
The state overriding the decision of a legal guardian's (and probably the patient's) wishes.

14. Something bigger is happening behind the scenes?
Doesn't anybody see this? I wished I knew what the Bushites are up to something. I think we are looking at the beginning of the end of local laws and local courts. The almighty federal government is going to dictate everything on a local level. The party that promotes states rights has taken a 180 degree turn.

7. And the big question
And how many families of dead soldiers did he visit?

And how many soldiers with missing limbs did he visit?

And how many Texas death row inmates did he visit?

And how many patients with less public profiles, who quietly and with as much privacy as one can muster in a hospital, who also had artificial life support removed... how many of these people has he visited?

None. Zero. Fuck all.

Asswipe spineless shit.

8. word
it's sick... the abuse of the 10th ammendment that this administration pulls off daily. As for Terri, she is dead already, I don't understand why her body can't follow her soul.

9. Can I make a suggestion on your letter?
I would focus on the fact that the courts ruled on what they believed to be Terri's wishes. The one person who has been forgotten her is Terri. They want to throw a life line to a person who wants to be dead for political purposes only.

10. I'm so horrified!! The Bush Bros & the Congress & Senate's meddling in
the Schiavo case is absolutely horrific and disgusting! Not to mention UNCONSTITUTIONAL! :puke:

And I agree with you that this is an absolute waste of our tax payer money and the energy that they are putting in to it (not to mention just plain WRONG!) You think Bush and these people ever put this much energy into any one of our soldiers lives and well-being and concern for their safety and health?

I also agree that this is a state issue and that the Bush Neo-con Cabal have something bigger in mind. My guess is they want to throw out state rights as a whole so that in the future the precedent has been set for how they can do so. I believe that is what is driving them. And its not coincidence that its happening in Florida with Brother Jebs help and that they are using the right wing pro-lifers as their "base"...

If any court agrees to hear this and they allow the actions of the US Congress and Senate to go without being declared unconstitutional, we are in bigger trouble right now in this country than I previously thought....our constitution really is dead and so is our democracy...
