I just called Debbie Wasserman Schultz's office--
Edited on Sun Mar-20-05 09:02 PM by janx
to let her and her staff know how impressed I was with her. The guy who answered was so glad that I called. I told him about a couple of right wingnut web sites (one in particular) that were publishing her number.

This guy sounded so exhausted and told me that I could not imagine the phone calls they had received.

Debbie will be speaking on the floor of the House tonight, along with other Dems.

Floridians should be mighty proud of her.

Edit: Oh--and I told him that there are so many people, in cyberland and in the "real world"--who care deeply about what she is going and who appreciate her.

5. She is articulate and passionate about this.
Floridians are so lucky to have her and wise to have elected her.

4. wow
I'll admit I didn't know Ms. Schultz until I saw her speak this evening. I was impressed with her speech and called the office to pass along my thanks and regards. Yeah, I think the guy answering phones needs a coffee break... LOL. A nice woman took the phone from him and sounded very gracious. I think the fact that I was not even a constituent but bothered to call anyway warmed her heart.

6. I'm not either and said so right at the beginning.
But I just had to make the call. She is so passionate, smart, brave, and articulate. Her staff has been through hell today. I believed the guy when he said that I could not imagine the calls they had gotten.

7. i got that feeling
I was put on hold by Coffee Guy almost immediately... the phones are probably swamped.

One way or another, history is in the making here tonight in Congress. I'll admit, like one poster in another thread, I'm afraid to leave the set for a snack because I might miss some amazing debates.

8. He didn't put me on hold at all--he was so grateful that I called.
But he was so tired and amazed at the horrible calls her office has been receiving.

Compassionate.
Maybe I can send her this thread.
On edit:
The congressional website won't let me obtain her email addy (or I haven't figured out how to do it yet. Someone from Florida -- do you have her email?

11. Yes
That'd be good. I think she's great. She really gave it to Bush and his budget plans earlier last week. I was impressed and happy that she was talking about the budget cuts and saying similitar things I feel about them.

12. It won't
I was reading someone telling how on CNN they showed her speaking and she was talking about the 99 bill and they cut her off. Go figure!
