Do we need anymore proof that the republicans want a theocratic government
All of these references to God on the House floor are sickening coming from these heartless hacks who think nothing about taking food from the poor, cutting funding for housing, refusing to fund medical care including nursing home care that would accommodate thousands like the woman they are purporting to want to save.

Christian fundamentalism runs rampant in America, led by these elected, would-be clerics and taxpayer-funded televangelists who use the houses of our government to further their public ministry. But there is no true compassion in those halls, only calculated self-promotion from these appointed, not anointed, charlatans who siphon money from the poor to enrich themselves and their bloodsucking industry cohorts.

This same pious bunch thinks nothing of starting and fueling a war with their concieted references to God, liberty, and freedom as their bombs kill and maim hundreds of thousands of innocents. This same barnstorming bunch is conspicuously silent about God and religion as they vote to deny basic medical care to our nations injured veterans who they have directed to battlefields to kill and be killed.

So, these elected televangelists preach on and on tonight about "causing the death" of this one young woman in Florida, and tomorrow they will play role of Pilate as they weigh their allegiance to the moneychangers against the humanity of supporting a nation of citizens who struggle with desperate needs like hunger, poverty, and the general neglect in our schools and hospitals. I wish we could pull the plug on these brain-dead ministers of inequity and free them to find the God they claim to speak for.

"In our country are evangelists and zealots of many different political, economic and religious persuasions whose fanatical conviction is that all thought is divinely classified into two kinds—that which is their own and that which is false and dangerous."-Robert H Jackson, Associate Justice, US Supreme Court

7. you're absolutely right
I've had it with all of 'em. You'd think with the knowledge that there are so many different religions and beliefs that folks would tread easy with their own dogma. But every fanatic wants to hit the rest of us over the head with their own fundamentalist agenda.

And here I am believing that our country was founded to protect us from having these different beliefs imposed on each other. But what do I expect from these republican morons who never gave a wit about history or precedence.
