Where is George Wallace when you need him?
Edited on Mon Mar-21-05 12:45 AM by Floogeldy
Of course, his racist ass was a disgrace.

But it is really a shame that we don't have a governor of Florida who would block the hospital doors so the tube could stay removed as ordered by the Florida Court.

But, then again, if there were such a governor, the republicans wouldn't be attempting this power grab/propaganda campaign/revolution.

Edit: I mean "could stay removed."

1. george wallace showed his stuff in a vid called "crisis..."

edited for math and punct.

That i procured from the county library recently. 'twas all about (the vid that is) the machinations of the involved politicos trying not to hurt feelings yet during the very episodic nature of the fedgov (read two kennedys) trying to enforce some kinda educational equality for two particular, racially-unacceptable college students. but you know that story. funnier thing is, a few mofo days later, this vid shows that another previously racially-unpreferenced student registerin' for classes at the very same University of Alabama (if i recall, at huntsville) with nary a national guard soldier nor protestor nor anti-protestor (whatever that is) in site. though the camera operator was there. ole georgie wallace had some support and he made his stand against the feds but in (+/-) 24 short hours, barely long enough for donald sutherland's kid to save the homeland, live on TeeVee, and well, there was no more shenanigans on that campus.
what do i gotta say about this? nothing but the obviously spineless, defeated politicians goin gentle into that goodnight (pardon to thornton melon and dylan thomas and i guess maj. hotlips o'houlihan) you careerist buffoons! bullshitters! pretend you have a principle, pretend you will never be up for re-election or any other office or position ever. what's left anyway, wimps? in your bold hierarchy of windblowers? all leaders suck as much hot air as they blow.
sorry for the stereotyping, sorry for the rant. sorry. yes i am sorry too.

3. allright. so i post ridiculousness. what i mean is...
it might be swell to see jeb bush blockin' the hospital doors. even though when george wallace did it, there was party, not family, opposition and though his beliefs were skrewy, it was awesome to see his resolve and will. and since i did not see this scenario in alabama play out live, i had to reference the video (crisis- behind a presidential commitment, originally broadcast on tv in 1963.) so, yep where's the stand up politicians when you need 'em, but on the other hand, do we really need one now? opinion via the polls i have seen is not supportive of federal intrusion. so inconclusion, cheers for george wallace's ballsiness but jeers to his dead racist ass.
