...that has been planned for some time. Pelosi is over there. The advance work for a trip of that type is massive; it really would be bad form to cut it short when their vote would not have made any difference. The fix was in; all of the floor discussion was just a dog and pony show.

Apparently, pandering to the religious right is more important than upholding the Constitution.

How many are on the trip, is there a list somewhere?

I'm willing to give my rep a break if he is on that trip (big of me right!).

There may be more CODELS going on as well, I just happened to get word of this one and that is why I was even aware of it--they usually happen just before or after the "Spring District Work Period" (yeah, right--it's really RECESS, like grammar school!). So before you get torked at your rep, check his or her website to be sure they aren't on a working trip.

Mine isn't on the list! Looks like he gets a nice friendly letter from me asking why he didn't care enough to protect the Constitution as he swore he would do when he took office!

Illinois' ultra liberals -- Schawkosky and Emmanuel didn't even vote! As ill as Lane Evans is with Parkinson's, he could show up and vote "no" -- Bless you Lane!

There is a HUGE CODEL going on to the ME--and it isn't a "light briefs and shopping" codel, they are asking about the WAR.

Before you get pissed at your rep, check first to see if they were on that trip. If you are against the war, as I am, there's a real need for our reps to be able to back up their attitudes with anecdotal evidence. And people (read: servicemembers) always find a way to talk to their rep--alot of the reps specifically insist that they meet with all service personnel from their state, WITHOUT a minder. A lot of truth comes out in those meetings, trust me.

I'm so ashamed my congressman voted for this after the Email I sent him yesterday afternoon. :argh:

My right winger Repub Congressman Gallegly didn't vote. Then again, he goes MIA and flies below the radar a lot. It's a strategy that has worked well for him.

Big deal. It forces more Repugs off their vacation, anyway.

Violating the 10th Amendment to the Constitution is a big deal to me. Violating their sworn oaths to uphold the Constitution is a big deal to me.

maybe you should find out why the did not vote. This was a planned break, many were off on journeys they could not get out of.

I will also send a thank you to the other dem rep from my state that voted against the resolution.
