Bush's Hypocrisy Re: Schiavo
Edited on Mon Mar-21-05 06:39 AM by BullGooseLoony
"In cases like this one, where there are serious questions and substantial doubts, our society, our laws and our courts should have a presumption in favor of life," said the Chimp.

How many people did he put to death in Texas? Was it something like 156 out of 157 death sentences he followed through on?

Let's not forget the way he mocked Karla Faye Tucker, either.

3. You know this is nothing more than a way to play the Right to Life card
without changing the abortion laws.
They do not want to change the abortion laws in this country because they still need them for the next round of elections.
If they play this as their right to life card for this term, then the repukes can use it in the 06 elections and if they play their cards they can even use it on 08.

They (the repukes) are only about saving life if there is political gain in it for THEM!

5. Bush signed the death warrant of this baby...
when he signed a Texas law that let HMOs and hospitals pull the plug on children against the wishes of the parents TO SAVE MONEY!

Who Spoke For Baby Sun?
19 March 2005

6 month old Sun Hudson died at Texas Children's Hospital yesterday, after being removed from the breathing tube. He "wiggled with eyes open, his mother said, and smacked his lips." His mother, Wanda Hudson, had fought to keep her son alive against the medical judgment of the hospital. It is the first such case in this country, where a hospital's decisions about the life of a patient were placed over the wishes of a family member or legal guardian.

9. Yes, that's true.
Many others pled for mercy--just to live their lives out in prison. He granted one stay, but the man was eventually executed.

Thanks to Bush, Henry Lee Lucas died a natural death in prison.

7. This is meant to distract Americans
from the really terrible mess this country is in. WTF doesn't he address the deficit, the escalating price of oil, not to mention how the hell we are going to proceed with Iraq and the fact the dollar isn't worth anything any more in the world? The tactic the White House cartel uses is grab on to any issue except the ones they can't or won't fix and hope nobody notices the ship is sinking.

8. not to mention to trampling of social systems to help people
its similar to their opinions with regard to abortion - they're so concerned with the 'life" but then do nothing to help them live.
