Capitol hill memo claims Shiavo vote was political
Good Morning America interrupted a Congressman to ask him about the memo claiming the Shiavo vote was a good political issue against the Democrats.

The Congressman denied the memo, but quickly said the author should be fired.

9. I bet you're right. The official line is there's no memo.
Just the same he's pissed the media found a copy.

2. I don't understand stuff like this.
The MSM is just shocked and amazed that such a vote might, just might have been political? I don't even understand the way these people think anymore.

3. Who authored the memo?
Anyone know? What Congressman made the statement? Who ever he is, I agree. Was it DeLay that issued the memo?

5. I read it was "anonymous"
Seems like no one would willingly put their name on that dirty little document.

4. The Washington Post referenced the memo in this article.
<snip>

"In a memo distributed only to Republican senators, the Schiavo case was characterized as "a great political issue" that could pay dividends with Christian conservatives, whose support is essential in midterm elections such as those coming up in 2006."

Now no one is talking... apparently it was an anonymous
memo of talking points for GOP reps from the GOP...

nice, the accountability party in action again.

7. I saw Blount on the Today Show implying it might have been Dem created
He threw that in there at the end. He also stated that neither he nor anyone he knew had seen the memo which is odd because W used almost the exact language as in the talking points memo.

10. Actually, Tom DeLay said as much
and was quoted in the NY Times saying that if Dems oppose the Schiavo bill they will remain the minority party. Who needs a memo with talk like that?
