Has the Schiavo case prompted you to make draw up a living will?
Edited on Mon Mar-21-05 12:22 PM by CatWoman
It has me.

I don't want Tom Delay and his pig friends putting their noses in MY business.

3. No, but my family almost had to deal with this with my father ....
we all agreed he would not be kept alive with machines and that no one in our family would if a similar situation befalls them. This was back in 1989.

4. My offer stands
Anyone who wants a durable and unbreakable Health Care Power Of Attorney - with detailed instructions on precisely how to execute it - just has to PM me, leave an email address, and I'll send it to you as a Word attachment.

In the past week, I've sent out tons of them to DUers. It's vital that everyone have one of these.

13. Thanks again, OldLeftieLawyer!
The documents and instructions have been very helpful; I'm just slow to mind my manners. :)
Running back and forth every day for radiation has addled me. :silly:

6. Living Will
My wife and I both did it after the fallout from this case.

I don't think it will stop the intrusion in our lives by these people, though...

8. Yes, but I did that over a year ago when her case started on National News
I however heard a number of statements on TV in the last few days that indicate that you may need MORE than just a Living Will. You may also need a durable Power of Atty naming someone as your rep, and some other form I can't remember.

I'm thinking about contacting an Atty today to find out the cost of drafting an iron clad document that will insure my wishes are followed, no matter who objects!

12. No
I live without any access to healthcare at all.

A few years ago outside of Bend,Oregon, a prosperous place populated by well-to-do people, a man was found dead in his truck.
An autopsy was performed. The man had died from an untreated tooth absess which had spread to his cranial vault.

THAT, my friends, is the sort of death I fear.

I told her to pull it and let me go

She said the same but if her parents wanted her to live to let them have their way.
