George W. Bush in Tucson with his SS Roadshow
Hubby and I planned to get up early this am to join the protest against Georgie's Social Security appearance at the Tucson Community Center. I woke with a real head-splitter and felt I wouldn't be able to make it so we decided to sit this one out.

My hubby then decided he would leave me nursing my headache and he departed for COSTCO with our grocery list. I lay back enjoying the peace and quiet when suddenly the front door flew open with a bang and my hubby burst into the room, face inflamed with rage and he started to blast epithet's that would make a sailor proud.

We live in older but very peaceful neighborhood in the NE of Tucson and we are like many growing cities having troubles with commuting and traffic snarls. My hubby had driven through the neighborhood and attempted to enter the main road where he was immediately stopped by the local police. He then noticed that there were Tucson Police and Sheriff's scattered up and down the road. All access roads were controlled by police and there were lines of halted cars. The policemen told my hubby that he could not enter and that he should turn around and leave. My hubby quickly discerned that this could only be due to Georgie's visit and questioned the policemen, "is it because the Neocon asshole is coming through," the policemen replied, it was a possibility. Hubby then parked the car and proceeded to walk the blocked off road and came upon a motorcycle cop who was not as friendly as the first policeman and he gruffly ordered him to leave the area as he had no business there. My red headed hubby, was now ready for a protest and declared to the cop that "my daughter lives in Russia, and she has more freedom there then we do here, under this asshole's regime," He then told the poor cop, that he hoped all of this came back to bite him in the ass.....surprised he wasn't arrested. Hubby is 4th generation Zoni and comes from the John Slaughter bloodline....don't take kindly to bullies.

When my local daughter was comprised of the event, she stated. see we didn't even have to leave our neighborhood to protest Bush.

Apparently Georgie made his first appearance, unannounced at the nearby community center and hosted by the senior's.

2. Good for your husband!
It's sad that you have to be prisoners in your own neighborhood, even for a day. That's awful.
