4. sick and sad
These are probably the same people who think that AIDS is God's punishment for homosexuality. Christianity isn't supposed to be so hate-filled. Such a twisted, perverse interpretation of scripture. I don't understand it.

6. The Phelps family of Topeka created a website regarding this....
shortly after it happened (god-sent-the-tsumani/dot/com).. I won't link directly to it. Some Saudi clerics said essentially the same thing about the tsunami- except it wasn't Jesus they mentioned (fill in wrathful diety of choice).

11. In Europe they tend to have a more realistic approach -
There was a case where a nurse switched babies a few years ago.

The mother was crying and yelling 'God why did you switch my babies.'

It made national news.

In Europe, Belgium or France, I forget which, a baby switching case came out within 6 months or so of it. It made the European newspapers but nary a peep was heard here.

There the mother was crying and yelling, "Why would this nurse chose to play god with my baby! She is an evil, nasty woman who deserves all punishment she is due!" was her call.

Why is there such a difference so often?

Why is our country so filled with religious zealots who blame god for everything rather than just attributing it to being 'Bad Luck' or blaiming the actual perpetrator?

The same has been for the Tsunami, there have been a number of MSM papers that attributed quotes and print to those who claimed it was an act of God. I won't even go into the number of Church news letters and small opinion pieces that reflected that same sentiment

The European news sources I follow though resported the Tsunami as a horrible ddisaseter and stressed the need for humanitarian aid after a lousy disaster.

On the islands that were hit, many of the people interviewed asked God why they were punished.

These people who were interviewed fall into nations that are definable as second and third world nations.

Even better is to ask, "Why is the US acting and regressing into a second world nation when you look at how we presently compare to other first world nations?"

17. more Baylor complaints
oh that is just ridiculous. I'm not a religious person but trust me, I'm getting more turned off from it every day. I'm a student at Baylor University ( for those of you not from Texas, Baylor is a small baptist school in Waco, which as my father calls it, is "the papal city of the baptists" unfortunately it is totally corrupt and students end up killing eachother, and they kick homosexuals out, but hey, they pretend like nothing is wrong, as long as they get their money) and all these hardcore religious conservatives here piss me off. The only reason why I'm here is because they offered me a hefty scholarship, but it's starting to not be worth it anymore because these people are so ignorant and are so blinded by their faith that I am so dumbfounded.
