Be afraid . . .
http://www.suntimes.com/output/steinberg/cst-nws-stein21.html

The peacenik crowd always says they are afraid of their government. And I always smiled, thinking them paranoid. But now I've caught a whiff of that cold dread. It started with the jackboot response of the Federal Communications Commission to Janet Jackson's nipple, continued through public school teachers across the country being coerced not to teach evolution, and burst forth with the mobilization over Terri Schiavo.

The government is supposed to be our check on muscular Christianity, which would slide easily from handing you a pamphlet on the street to grilling you over on a spit until you confess your heresies, were it not for the restraint of law.

That might sound alarmist. But who knows where this will go next?

1. It's not alarmist...
There's no protection against muscular Christianity when your government is the embodiement of muscular Christianity.

:scared:

5. I know what you mean
I truly think its time for people to start gathering to one section of the country so we can mobilize against this.

6. I'm afraid because...
...it seems that the majority of people in this country are so easily brainwashed. How can people follow so blindly? Why don't they THINK! Okay, so they are Christians, but from my reading of the bible (and I admit to being a non-believer), their behavior is anything but Christ-like. Wasn't he about reaching out to the oppressed, the poor, and those cast out from society? To me these "Christian" groups are so full of hate that it scares me.

7. I've said this before

And I'll say it again - these so called "Good Christains" would do well to blow the dust off of their Bibles, and do some reading - it might open their eyes. "For what ye do unto the least of these, ye do unto me". They need to think about that, before it's too late.
