Just caught this on local news here in central Florida

There was a peaceful anti Bush protest over in Brevard county on the day Bush was sworn in. Now there are six people who are being investigated as "people of interest" by the Brevard county sheriffs office. What the hell?

(by these people I mean the far right wing, in this case the Brevard Co. sheriffs) SURE they want anarchy?

I hope they think their actions through to their logical conclusion.

Protests are not allowed.
All protesters will be surveiled, interviewed, and possibly arrested.

people's homes and asked/insisted? that they take anti-bush signs out of their front windows in their homes. Boy , great freedom of speech, not even in your own homes.

to let word get around that if you protest.. your name will get on a list and you or your family will never get a job with any corporation.

That is how the culture of coertion works.

All American's are for Bush, never against. You must agree 100%, or you will be investigated and possibly arrested. There cannot be discussion or disagreement, because that's unAmerican.

Forget about the 1st Amendment, that will be overturned soon. Just go along with this plan, and you will be okay.

"A handful of local citizens have made official requests to see the files being kept at the sheriff's office. The Melbourne police chief got in some trouble over this issue, but the Brevard County sheriff is making no apologies for keeping files on peaceful protesters.

"It's very clear that our rights are definitely in jeopardy," said Melbourne resident Jeff Nall.

Nall is one of 36 people seen in a secret police videotape of a protest at Melbourne City Hall. The group voiced opposition to the war in Iraq this past Jan. 20, the day President George W. Bush took his second oath of office.

"We're sending a message that's quite dangerous to our people that says, 'If you speak out and we don't like what you have to say, then we may have a problem with you and we may treat you as a terrorist,'" Nall said."
