Hearing on Worldwide Threats to National Security.. I have now brought this up 3x's... Here's are few points from the 1st 30 minutes of a a nearly 3 hour hearing. (still finishing it off, keep pausing to take notes for research purposes).. Everything that I'm going to list are going to be suggested to the new Intel Czar once he is confirmed. 1) more provisions to the Intelligence Reform and Terrorist Prevention Act of 2004- evidently like the Patriot Act this regime just doesn't think this covers enough 2)Combining the War on Terror with the War on Drugs- double your money, double your fun- not to mention this will allow drug suspects to be held by law under the same provisions that "terrorist" suspect are now held under the Patriot Act 3)"Professional Interrogation has become a very useful and necessary way to obtain information..."-but the US Gov does not participate in or condone torture (yes you may giggle now) 4)Media links are also brought up as a major concern, they've made things "easier for our enemies" 5) the need for more SMART networks for intelligence gathering.... And many many other things. When Negroponte is confirmed there is potential trouble around the corner for all of us who are against the BFEE and who are vocal about it.. But hey, who cares the world seems to be focused on Terry Shiavo...
