CA Repub Rohrabacher wants new OKC bombing investigation
http://www.kotv.com/main/home/stories.asp?whichpage=1&id=80091

A new investigation into the Oklahoma City bombing may happen soon.

California Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher may use his congressional subcommittee to investigate allegations that Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols did not act alone when they blew up the Murrah building in 1995.

Rohrabacher also questions whether federal agencies took part in a cover-up. He has discussed his plan with former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating and Congressman Ernest Istook who both say the investigation was a bad idea.

The 10th anniversary of the bombing is next month.

13. Seriously. What's more important to Americans? Venegence against McViegh
or the information that died with him about how he did the bombing?

2. Rohrabacher and his relationship to the Taliban needs to be investigated

O.C. Weekly, Sept. 6, 2002

Rogue Statesman: Congressman Dana Rohrabacher’s absolutely crazy, quite possibly illegal back-channel chats with the villains of Sept. 11

by R. Scott Moxley

(.....)
"...Federal documents reviewed by the Weekly show that Rohrabacher maintained a cordial, behind-the-scenes relationship with Osama bin Laden’s associates in the Middle East—even while he mouthed his most severe anti-Taliban comments at public forums across the U.S. There’s worse: despite the federal Logan Act ban on unauthorized individual attempts to conduct American foreign policy, the congressman dangerously acted as a self-appointed secretary of state, constructing what foreign-affairs experts call a "dual tract" policy with the Taliban.

A veteran U.S. foreign-policy expert told the Weekly, "If Dana’s right-wing fans knew the truth about his actual, working relationship with the Taliban and its representatives in the Middle East and in the United States, they wouldn’t be so happy."

Nowadays, Rohrabacher and his numerous aides are quick to provide copies of the congressman’s pre-Sept. 11 rants against the Taliban. They will tell you that he labeled them "a pack of dogs killing anyone" and "the most anti-Western, anti-female, anti-human rights regime in the world." They will also show you records of the congressman berating Clinton administration foreign-policy advisors for misreading Taliban intentions and for trying to negotiate peace in Afghanistan with the militant Islamic group’s Mullah Mohammed Omar, a bin Laden associate.

What they won’t mention is that Rohrabacher also once lobbied shamelessly for the Taliban. A November/December 1996 article in Washington Report on Middle East Affairs reported, "The potential rise of power of the Taliban does not alarm Rohrabacher" because the congressman believes the "Taliban could provide stability in an area where chaos was creating a real threat to the U.S." Later in the article, Rohrabacher claimed that:

3. Richard Clarke's book speculated on this
He said he was convinced there was someone else based on an oversea trip that McVeigh took before the bombing.

I used to blow it off, but after reading this, I became convinced there was far more to the story.

14. More likely to cut another hashmark on the Clinton belt
Since it happed in 1995 while Clinton was in office, they'll be blaming him. It's probably pre-emptive to a possible Hillary run in 2008...get things moving and in the mind of the public that all things Clinton are evil.

15. No kidding...like there's NOTHING w/ shrub's regime that needs looking at

Googling Rohrabacher and OKC...that is all he does in the listed webpages that have him talking about OKC...blame Clinton..so yeah, I could your scenario playing out. What better timing then NOW since the 10th anniversary is next month and more news attention is given on anniversaries like the 5th, 10th, etc.

6. I'm all for it.
If not for a traffic stop, we would still be blaming the Muslim world for that one.

If only there had been some traffic stops on 9/11.
