Regarding 'The Onslaught'
This is a wonderful article and raises many important points.

I do have a question, however. This was something I thought about in the 1980s during Reagan's hellacious terms. There were several Repukes at work I would each lunch with. They were constantly defending Reagan and while I would constantly beat them in arguments, they wouldn't change their minds.

One of the most frustrating things was that Reagan and the Repukes would submit truly cruel legislation, just like the Repukes are passing now. Democrats would fight hard against it, the bills would be watered down or amended, and my Repukes 'friends' would say 'See? Reagan isn't so bad.'

ARRRRGGGGGHHH.

Here's the point: should Democrats just let Repukes have their way and let the sheeple see and suffer the inevitably disastrous results? Or should Democrats fight Repukes every step of the way, water down their atrocities, so the sheeple can keep on being fooled?

I don't know the answer to this question!

1. I've wondered this myself
Right after the election,I was really high on the idea of a "No Votes" intiative. Essentially, for every vote the Democrats would simply not vote. When asked, by pundits or whoever, they'd say "We're giving the Republicans a chance to prove they're right. They can have their way and, if in a few years, this country is a shining city on the hill, the American people will reelect them. But if they're wrong, and this country has sunken into Depression, the American people will know at whose feet blame can be placed."

Then I realized that the Republicans are completely nuts and would use it as an excuse to overtly dismantle the country.

2. Well, I just made up my mind.
We have to stop Repukes. After seeing the calls for martial law today in Florida and Washington, D.C., I am going to fight Repukes tooth and nail and urge all Democrats to do likewise.
