Is America ready to be turned into a Police State over Terri Schiavo?
So far we've had:
1) A State legislature trying to usurp the power of the judiciary.
2) The Federal legislature trying to usurp states rights and the power of the judiciary.
And now we have:
3) A State government threatening to use its police powers to force the outcome that the judiciary would not grant.
These people are so drunk with power, they don't think the rule of law applies to them anymore.
I like to think that Americans aren't ready to have a police state created and the Constitution turned on its head so that Terri Schiavo can live as a vegetable.
It's so the transformation to the fascist theocracy can get underway. After that is complete, I’m sure they’ll be more than willing to pull the plug on Terri as an unnecessary expense to the state.
I hope they storm that hospital in florida and reconnect her feeding tube. Then people will finally wake up and see this group of republicans for what they are. It will be the death of the republican party for many years to come. Sure, there will always be a nutty 25 percent who would be happy if they were making lamp shades out of Iraqi skin. But most people including moderate republicans and independents will see exactly what they voted for in Bush.
7. Exactly. This is the crux of the whole issue. The executive
is dictating to the legislature which is now attempting to dictate to the judiciary. The Rapture Right has no respect for legal precedent and the supremacy of law has never recovered from the ravages of Bush v Gore. With a supine corporate media and tamper-close elections this democracy is perilously close to becoming non functional....in other words brain dead.
8. It was bound to happen at some point..Poor Terri just happens to be
the catalystic pawn in this farce. On the upside, I think if Jebbie Mcfatfuckhead keeps overstepping his authority, it will spell DOOM for all Bushes, as well as many Republicans.
