MSNBC Jeb is threatening to take Terri into custody charging abuse
I kid you not, just heard it and link hunting.

Jeb is saying that whoops we just discovered Terri has been abused and he could take her into custody. GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY HAVE THESE PEOPLE NO SHAME?

1. he also says that he has new information that she may have been
misdiagnosed (though the doctor only "observed her" -- as well as her medical records and videos -- did not personally examine her).

12. I am really disappointed that no one from the Democrat side
is standing up for the legal ramifications of this apparent display to ignore the courts, to try to introduce 'new" evidence that would overthrow the evidence of fifteen years of testimony, of diagnosis by many doctors.

I wish we did have a voice in it, because I think lying back and waiting for the outcome,ie letting others frame the issue as a "clever" strategy, is wrong and is weak especially when there are constitutional issues to be debated.

15. Silence might be due to nobody speaking...
... or it might be due to a lack of access to media.

I think either way unless the democrat is siding with the republican they'd be called names etc. So it's best they stay out and let them do their own b.s. They're already calling us killers.

20. well, there seems to be no difficulty in other issues
when the Senators want to get into the headlines. Such as Hillary or Kerry. I have seen their names often in reports in the news but there is silence on this issue and I think it is wrong and I think it is weak, and I think that the issue is being controlled by the Repubs
again !

Think that they will not force it to come out in their favor? Think that the polls mean anything to them? Or cling to the belief that Democrats are really speaking out on this important issue but no one is reporting it?

They believe they can force it--again as in the 2000 coup. If no one can present a cogent argument against this atrocity, thuis attack on the constitution, the sleezy methods, it makes it easier for them.

The polls are on the side of the Democrats on this and they need to take it and run with it.

The silence is deafening.

22. Patience, my friend. I don't know what the Dems strategy is...
... or even if they actually have one.

Since the Repubs are taking so much flak for grandstanding on this issue, I wonder if the Dems are trying to do the opposite of grandstand.

I've said my peace on the subject (here and elsewhere), all while trying to strike the best balance with my other duties.

I'll ask no more than that from my senators and reps.

but it seems to me a golden opportunity at this point that is being wasted.

But then, I am only one of many of the common man (men?) (Women?)and not a sophisticated belt way chess player

Let's see where it goes from here. After all, there is really little any of us can do about it.

27. Yeah, I manage my staff and my senators the same way.
I tell them what outcome I want to see, and I leave the "how" to them. They're competent professionals, and I treat them that way by default.

If they want my input or help on the "how", they can ask for it.

but let's see the outcome of this debacle and the results of the silence.

I am patient enough in my impotence to effect an outcome.

Want to make a bet or something? :-)

37. I get my results my way... the easy way. Not everyone agrees with me.
And they don't have to. But my life is balanced, and my people seem happy (though I admit I cannot ever know for sure).

I'll politely decline any political wagering. Knowing how corrupt some sports betting can be, imagine how politicians would behave knowing there was side money riding on their actions.

Pass the popcorn. :)

36. I'm not sure what good it would do -- besides what was said at the vote
by Deborah Wasserman Schultz and the 1999 Texas law signed by then-Governor George Bush. Should they be talking more about the hypocrisy? Perhaps. But -- if dems believe this is an issue that is personal, they may decide not to "grandstand" too much. I think the "frame" then becomes this is NOT an issue for last-minute congressional bills, that it's a personal matter between closest kin and doctors.

2. In court the DCF attorney-whore refused to answer whether
DCF and FDLE were on the way to pick her up. Greer issued an order restraining them and anyone assisting them from violating the final order. So now the DCF folks can either be in contempt or lose their jobs, nice choices.

These people are crazy and will stop at nothing.

18. well I wasn't a prostitute but I was one of those who did
quit. I was not going to break state law or ask my line staff to break the law because he wanted something done that wasn't right.

So, 2 years ago I up and resigned from a job that I loved. I worked with the elderly and disabled citizens of florida to help them get medicaid, get into nursing homes etc. I was really good at my job. I loved helping the elderly and I went way over and above helping them solve problems with Social Security, etc.

I loved my job but I quit before I was compelled to break the law by Mr. Bush.
