Red / Blue "mandate / political capital"


According to the July 2004 census:
the 44 Democratic Senators now in Congress represent 148,026,027 Americans, while the current 55 Republican Senators only represent 144,765,157 (you can split the 310,000 Americans represented by independent Senator Jeffords, but that is being charitable to the reds).

If not for the illegal redistricting of the house of representatives by the soon to be felon, DeLay, the republicans wouldn't even control the house.

1. Vermont voted 70-80% dem
and elected a republican governor 80/20%
Looking at Jefford's voting record for 04', he went with a lot more republican sided votes than i think his constituants know about. He may be an independant but 2/3 of the time he votes like a puke.
