I saw a teaser for Larry King last night. Evidently, he was going to have three people on who were near death or thought to be near death, and discuss their opinions as to whether or not they wanted to have life support removed, and whether or not Terri should have it removed.

Oy, now there's a blast from the past - sort of like smelling skunk spray while driving down the road. Years ago, probably 1968 or 69, my mother (may the Gods bless her) took me and one of my teen-aged friends on a car trip out to California. We were gone 5 or 6 weeks, camping in national parks, seeing national historic sites and having a good time. When we got to Las Vegas we stopped for a couple of days to relax, do laundry, that sort of thing. Anyway, one evening we went to Circus Circus for dinner and to enjoy the show - at the time it was one of the few "family friendly" entertainment venues in Las Vegas. As we walked around, my friend, whose parents watched all sorts of variety shows and celebrity telethons, got all excited and said to my mom and me something along the lines of ooooh look - it's Pat Boone and his kids. My mother, who was a history teacher, librarian and only watched PBS, turned around and asked "Who?". The really funny part was that she had turned not towards us,on her right, but to her left and actually said it right to Pat Boone's torso. The look on his face was priceless - disbelief mostly. Of course, I had no idea who he was either, but figured from my friend's breathless attitude he was someone vaguely important - so I asked her what he did. The poor man got out of our vicinity with his family very quickly.

I KNEW I'd seen this somewhere! What a HUNK, huh. Supreme Mr. "Morality" himself... Puts Freddy Mercury to shame!
