Will the Terri Schiavo case produce our next Timothy McVeigh?
The confrontation between the ATF and the Branch Davidian cult, along with right wing hate radio whipping their listeners into a frenzy over it, helped pave the way for the attack on the OKC Federal Building; the second most destructive terrorist attack in U.S. history.

In the case of Terri Schiavo, the right wing media is once again whipping its supporters into a frenzy. It's obvious they won't get their way in this, and so the enemy has become the judges who've thwarted them.

So what I'm wondering is, will this spur some corn fed "patriotic" conservative to try and blow up a federal or state court building?

I fear the worst because the right has given us reason to fear the worst in the past.

3. Without a doubt :-(
Look at the violence against Judges recently.

Judges have replaced Liberals as the bogeymen of the Freepers, I guess.

7. It has the same feeling as the Waco Jesus mass suicide.
The wacko Jesus freaks are having a tantrum because things aren't going their way. Wasn't Waco the reason McVeigh gave for his bombing?

9. David Koresh was just a good Christian fella
Who fancied himself the messiah, and had a tendency toward federal weapons violations.

That's all.

All the women folk had to sleep with his holy, messiah self.

To paraphrase Mel Brooks:

It's good to be the messiah.

5. More than likely violence will follow.
Such behaviour is tacitly encouraged by the ruling right and the media prostitutes doing their duty to distract the followers from realizing what's happened in the USA.

12. Recommended for "Greatest" page - this is a crucial issue, IMO
The wider issue in this case -- or one of the wider issues -- has to do with the Republicans' willingness to demonize judges.

They do it over and over again, and it's DANGEROUS!

They're making an enemy out of an entire branch of our system of government. They're attacking America's democracy itself.

And I agree with the OP in this thread: it seems like it's just a matter of time before one of their minions takes it upon himself to "do something about it."

Very scary. And very tragic for America as a nation. These people are hell-bent on tearing our society to shreds.

13. Yup! And there is "incitement to riot" by some pretty major media outlets
Any blood spilled should be layed directly at their feet.
