Is FOX liable for Incitement to Riot?
If there are bomb threats, and people are attempting to hold up gun stores and it escalates further as Easter approaches..
And the hysteria that FOX is encouraging escalates...

Can they be held responsible?

2. The way that "Fox and Friends" have been flat out lying about
Schiavo's condition and quoting non-reputable scientists and dis-similar cases to give people false hope.

Hell Yes! Sue the socks off these bat-shit crazy lying RW ba*tards. It's no surprise that FOX spins every story to suit the "Roves" of this country.

4. Michael Schiavo should sue the crap out of them.
But even if he wins the administration will pass a last minute law that applies only to Michael Schiavo to keep Fox from paying out.

local talk radio was in hyper-drive this morning. The fucking hypocrites were quoting MLK, Thoreau and Voltaire! Calling for civil disobedience, calling for marshal law, saying they were ashamed to be Americans.

Where did they find our playbook?

This is about judicial nominations, and by extension abortion.

6. Call the Police and Homeland Security folks
we need to report this and demand their arrests. They are dangerous and possibly armed. If this was a liberal group we would all be in jail by now.

10. They keep showing photos of the judges who turn them down
The identity of judges is not a secret in the US, but how many other cases can you think of where they present identifying photos of the judge in a court case as the main 'graphic' for a news story about a ruling?

What they'd like to do, I'm sure, is put the photo up with a bullseye superimposed on it. Why else present the photos of the judges in this manner if not to goad somebody into shooting them? Why else would somebody need to know what any given judge looks like?

18. I don't recall. I believe there was an assassination. The radio
had made remarks that seemed to support the assassination idea.

13. Not to stick up for Fox, but
Edited on Fri Mar-25-05 09:55 AM by neebob
I've watched a tiny bit of television in the last week or so and seen much worse on CNN than Fox. Of course I'm only talking Greta van Susteren vs. Larry King, both of which I've stopped in mid-surf and watched a few minutes of. Larry King had Pat Boone and Jonie Whatserface Soandso. I couldn't stay with Greta very long, thanks to Susan Estridge's voice - which I think is one of the most annoying noises on the planet. I've caught other rational people on Fox in mid-surf, too, talking about the fact that Terri's cerebral cortex is liquified or gone or whatever, and I read here that Shepard Smith reported that.

Oh, and I also caught B.O.'s Talking Points Memo with his big solution, which is for Michael Schiavo to hand over Terri's care to her parents. And because I happen to think he should have done that years ago, it would have seemed marginally rational except for the pompous ass factor.

NOTE: There's no point in flaming me because, despite my belief that Michael should have given up a long time ago, thereby avoiding the hellish circus, if I have to take one side or the other, it's his.

The real test of what's on Fox would be to call my mother and ask what she thinks, because she only watches Fox. But that would fall into the category of self-defeating behavior. :)

16. It may be possible to file FCC complaints in some manner
against individual cable companies, or petition the cable networks to drop the network. That might raise some eyebrows.

about the nightmare in Rwanda.

the fundamental theme in the movie was the inflammatory rhetoric being broadcast over the radio, that set off the Hutu extermination of Tsutsis and Tsutsi "sympathizers".

One of the main characters was in a UN tribunal for inciting genocide with his radio broadcasts. So there is precedent.

(i'm not sure how the tribunal ended - i was so overcome with tears of sadness i had to go to sleep.)
