Why did the Schindlers encourage Michael to date other women?
Edited on Fri Mar-25-05 12:39 PM by sonicx
The early days after her 1990 collapse were different.

The Schiavos moved in with her parents, and they helped him care for their oldest daughter. Eventually they encouraged him to date, and he even introduced a couple of the women to them.

No divorce, just go date. And these are strict Catholics. Perhaps they knew Terri wasn't going to recover?

...but now we have the fake outrage for him actually taking the advice? :eyes:

2. Why did they call for his Divorce?
That is against the Catholic Church too. Forget religion. They are just using every excuse they can possibly think of now.

3. Apparently they hoped he would find someone,
divorce Terri to marry the new someone, and LEAVE THE PARENTS IN FULL CONTROL OF TERRI AND HER ESTATE.

If he divorced Terri, he would no longer be her legal guardian; the guardianship would revert to the Schindlers. Getting rid of Michael was the only way to get Terri -- and her estate -- back into their hands.

Schindler told him that Michael needed to get laid! Go figure.

Sounds to me like they knew from the beginning that she was never going to recover and that Michael should get on with his life, which he did and they are now criticizing.

Also, there was some sort of disagreement between them when Michael got some insurance/settlement? money. Don't know who was sued for what reason. Seems to me that I've heard that all that money has been used for her 15 years of care. I can imagine it's been big bucks.

I think the Schindler's...the entire family, is looking for a book and movie deal and they want to prolong this as long as possible and have this controversy be as dramatic as possible. Sorry for the sinister thoughts, but that's the way they appear to me. When I saw the younger sister give her statement, she looked as if she had practiced her lines, but had suddenly gotten stage fright and forgot them.

Have you noticed how relaxed the father looks--laughing and talking with protestors? If you're really grieving, you don't really do that in my opinion. But then, what do I know other than what I've experienced personally???

5. Sued for Medical Malpractice
Initially. After her heart attack, the hospital never checked or treated her for her bulimia which further deteriorated her condition and they sued.
