Holy Crap...look what I found on Fox!
Sun Hudson (search) was born Sept. 25 with thanatophoric dysplasia (search), an incurable and fatal form of dwarfism. Doctors said his tiny lungs would never fully grow and that he would never breathe on his own.

Hudson's mother, Wanda, put up a fight when doctors advised removing Sun from a respirator. She said she did not believe in sickness or death.

But on March 15, a Texas law signed by then-Gov. George W. Bush (search) in 1999 allowed the hospital to go ahead and take Sun off the respirator in defiance of Wanda Hudson's wishes.

Now obviously, I've heard of this case before, but seeing it on Fox News...I was more than a bit surprised.

5. Yes, that was my thought...
I'm about to grab some popcorn and sit back to watch the Right-wing implode on itself. Should be sporting good fun.

2. But
The "CULTure of Life" crowd only seem to be interested more in a white women then they do in a black child.

But then again the "CULTure of Life" crowd doesn't seem to be interested in children who are homeless, have no health care, and
are suffering from malnutrition. So I guess they just don't seem to be interested in children at all.

4. This is how FAUX works. They report on just about everything BUT
it's all a matter of emphasis and opinion. Reporting on it gives them cover to say that they did and thus they are fair and balanced.

6. Except that
they could easily have said that Bush was in no way responsible. After all, the law he signed in 1999 did not apply to minors. That was ammended in 2003. Instead...they say that he signed the law responsible for the baby's death. Them's fighting words...no?

8. You know the spin already: "Look at how much Bush has changed!"
Edited on Fri Mar-25-05 02:13 PM by 0rganism
"See? September 11 changed everything, and turned W into the glorious protector of all life now defending us bravely from the oval office. Hail Cae -- err, Bush!"

The only reason this is coming up at all now is that the republicans have found an appropriate slant for the story. Watch as everything Bush did to move that Texas law forward is now attributed to those who support removing Terri Schiavo's feeding tube: "See? You demoncrats would let a child die against the parents' wishes, just like that baby in Texas!"

The Democratic reluctance to grab this one and beat on it in a unified, meaningful way leaves the door open for republicans to make their own interpretation into common knowledge. All the people here trumpeting how "out of touch" the GOP is for running with this are in for a nasty surprise: watch in amazement as this issue becomes the next crusading point that sweeps it for the repukes again in 2006.

11. Holy Crap!
FAUX and MSNBC -- damn! Has anyone seen what weed boy looks like since this all began. Last time I saw of photo of him, he had just arrived at the palace to await the "terri's law". He looked like crap then, I wonder what he looks like now!

Have they got him in hiding at Crawford? Is he playing with the critters and staying low?
