Will a British Divorcee cost `Wolfie' his job?
Just what you've all been waiting for--a Republican sex scandal (no, not Jeff Gannon)...

Will a British divorcee cost 'Wolfie' his job?

From SHARON CHURCHER and ANNETTE WITHERIDGE, Mail on Sunday

12:08pm 20th March 2005

Nomination: Paul Wolfowitz was a controversial choice for the World Bank

The appointment of George Bush's leading hawk as head of the World Bank was heading for a crisis over his relationship with a senior British employee.
Influential members of staff at the international organisation have complained to its board that Paul Wolfowitz, a married father of three, is so besotted with Oxford-educated Shaha Riza he cannot be impartial.

Extraordinarily, they claim she played a key role in pushing the 61-year-old Pentagon official into the Iraq War. And the row comes amid claims that Wolfowitz's wife Clare once warned George Bush of the threat to national security any infidelity by her husband could cause. . .

2. I think Bush nominated him for that particular job so he could
be closer to his girlfriend.

He doesn't have the background and he's clearly no one else's idea of a good pick. What elese could it be?

If the mistress has undo influence, they really need to take Wolfowitz out of the running.

3. Well...
... this sort of ignores that Wolfie was advocating invading Iraq (and the rest of the world) fifteen years ago, long before he met this woman.

What this does prove is that the British tabloid press hasn't forgotten John Profumo, Christine Keeler and Mandy Rice-Davies....

:)

It was hyped in the British press at the time for months on end.

Cheers.

8. that was a juicy scandal! It's a great story!
After she got out of prison, Christine Keeler lived with a person I know. My friend's parents did outreach to prisoners and Keeler was going to have no where to live, so they took her in for some time.
