When did the DU turn into the SU? (Schiavo Underground)
I've been looking over the message boards for the last few days for topics that interested me, and it seems like more than half of them are about the same friggin' story. Could we create a Schiavo message board and stick all these threads in there? I don't care if anyone wants to discuss this stuff, but I've been going into thread after thread only to find out that although the title didn't contain the "magic word", that's what the discussion is about. Does anyone else feel this way, or is just me?

BTW: I do see the irony is starting ANOTHER Schiavo thread to complain about the number of Schiavo threads.

12. We have a winner!
Considering that it's the "talk of the town", it's not surprising that it's the talk of DU.

5. People who feel that way hide the Schiavo threads.
Then they start threads on the topics that interest them. It's not rocket science.

6. I see it as an example of what's happening to this country
we're being taken over by the religious right. The republican party has the administrative and legislative branches and now wants to take over the judicial branch by whatever means they can.

I think there are too many threads, but I think the issue is interesting. I wish the discussion could be kept to a few active threads at any given time instead of basically taking over GD.

7. Earlier I saw somebody mark a thread "dupe."
Funny.

If all but one of the threads were locked, which one would survive?

9. For the 87th time, that's what the "x" is for.
"Hide Threads" is a gift to us from the esteemed Administrators, and the handiest tool on DU.

18. It is a great tool...
But they're starting faster than I can hide them. It's not a big deal when the title says it all, it's all of those threads where you can't tell what it's about until you open it up. I've been in a bunch of threads over the last few days where you didn't know what it was until you got halfway through the OP to find that it's another TS thread. It's just getting annoying.

10. Really should have two. One about all the religious- medical-
spiritual stuff and the other about the blatant attempt to violate the separation of powers and intimidate the judiciary. How many people are on their deathbeds tonight? Why do we only hear about one of them?

13. I felt much the same about the foil hat election fraud threads
as I do about Schiavo threads. No one here forces you to read what you don't want to read.

15. It's a fucking soap opera for the masses...
I think I have this figured out...the country is lacking a good earthquake, flood, wildfire, hurrican, tornado...so 'the news' finds death where it can.
