gotta wonder if the people who come up with such slogans have ever once heard of or read about the Council of Nicea
or the Arian "Heresy" ... no matter how many times a week they recite the Nicene Creed in church

i'd say (to respond to your wondering) they mean God as separate from Jesus & actually driving the nails into Jesus' hands and feet...

in which case, they're reverting to the Arian "heresy"
(1 + 1 + 1 = 3) ( homoi-ousion or "of like substance" - the Arian position)

whereas the official doctrinal math of the church as determined at Nicea embraces the concept of homo-ousion , "same substance" or con-substantial, "sharing the same substance"
(1 = one = indivisible ... yet supporting the concept of the Trinity - the Trinitarian position)

...in which theo-logical case - - umm, go figure?

the "church fathers" were definitely "master carpenters" in the sense that they managed to mortise-&-tenon all this so that it's (seemingly) hung together (sorry, bad pun, mostly unintended) for almost 2000 years

but it's the twisted & desperate imperial politics (Constantine) behind Nicea that trumps even the theological pretzel-logic... & i've yet to talk with a fundie or a "rapture-zealot" who knows any of this history much less has a clue how many forms of (doctrinal) "heresy" s/he falls into by voting with the Dominionist/united states of jesus idealogy

a person these days could get burned at the stake (phrase getting less metaphorical day by day) PDQ for even attempting to correct them in their misbegotten (ok, really bad Nicean pun...) theology
