The last one will blow you away.

IRAQ - VERY INTERESTING - DID YOU KNOW?
1. The garden of Eden was in Iraq.
2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization!
3. Noah built the ark in Iraq.
4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq.
5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq!
6. Isaac's wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq.
7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq.
8. Jonah preached in Nineveh - which is in Iraq.
9. Assyria, which is in Iraq! , conquered the ten tribes of Israel.
10. Amos cried out in Iraq!
11. Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem.
12. Daniel was in the lion's den in Iraq!
13. The three Hebrew children were in the fire in Iraq (Jesus had been in Iraq also as the fourth person in the fiery furnace!)
14. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the "writing on the wall" in Iraq.
15. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews c! aptive into Iraq.
16. Ezekiel preached in Iraq.
17. The wise men were from Iraq.
18. Peter preached in Iraq.
19. The "Empire of Man" described in Revelation is called Babylon, which was a city in Iraq!

And you have probably seen this one. Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible. But do you know which nation is second? It is Iraq!! However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible. The names us ed in ! the Bible are Babylon, Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia. The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The name Iraq, means country with deep roots.

Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant country in the Bible.

No other nation, except Israel, has more history and prophecy associated it than Iraq.

And also..! . This is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages...

The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible)

Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.

(Note the verse number!) Hmmmmmmm?! God Bless you all ! Amen !

I BETTER NOT HEAR OF ANYONE BREAKING THIS ONE OR SEE DELETED This is a ribbon for soldiers fighting in Iraq. Pass it on to everyone and pray. Something good will happen to you tonight at 11! :11 PM. This is not a joke. Someone will either call you or will talk to you online and say that they love you. Do not break this chain. Send this to 13 people in the next 15 minutes. Go

My response to all:

1. So the Koran revels in "cleansing the lands of Allah"?
Mmm-kay. And the Bible talks about how great it was to finally get rid of that Jesus rabblerouser.

5. That 9:11 passage is not in the Koran
Others have tried to pass it off as from Nostradomus.

Definitely a silly, silly E-mail.

21. The Qur'an is written in Arabic and, in Arabic, there is no word for
"eagle;" therefore, that never would be in the Qur'an.

If you guys really want to know what Surah 9, Verse 11 says, it's:

11. But (even so), if they repent, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity,- they are your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain the Signs in detail, for those who understand.

8. They NEED crap like that to................
justify their hate and to pump themselves into a nationalistic frenzy. Notice the "threat" at the end of this childish screed. If you don't pass it on your miracle phone call or e-mail wont come. How superstitious can you be? I thought all of these "enlightened " fundies didn't believe in superstition? Doesn't god trump all those evil forces behind not forwarding a chain letter?
You did the right thing. I would have been somewhat more vocal when replying "to all", but to let it pass unchallenged is lunacy.
These people are sick. They need validation for their hate.

9. All I get are offers for Christan Loans
Which confuses me because of the money lender/usury aspects. Oh well, just another example of picking and choosing what parts of the Bible to live by. Not to mention the intrusion on my privacy by flooding my e-mail with their Christian loan ads.

...seeing as these assholes think it's fun to rewrite sacred texts to make a political point, let's give it a go:

John 9:11 - "And the Great Monkey did come from the north-east, and did invoke the name of Jesus, and all the liars and hypocrites and fools did proclaim him their saviour, seeing that he would seek to overturn all reason and righteousness after the manner of the liar and the hypocrite and the fool. And they did follow him to their own destruction, and great was their woe."

12. The bit about the Koran is absolute nonsense.
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 06:12 AM by ET Awful
That is not contained anywhere in the Koran, and for that matter, the Koran is not structured such that a verse would be cited as 9:11. It's bullshit.

Reply to all with that link.

Oh, and the wise men? They were from different areas, each one came from a different place, that's why it was considered a "miracle" since these three unrelated and unconnected "wise men" came from diverse areas to follow the star, etc.

It's wrong. Period.

The true verse?

16. so I sez to them...
As we are on the subject of Revelations, I too have noticed odd things. The traditional fundamentalist interpretation of the "Kings of the East" is China, Iran, or Muslims in general. Iran is on George's list of nations to conquer, and U.S.-occupied areas, from Israel's perspective, would definitely be the Kings of the East--Mesopotamia and Persia. If Israel won't play patty-cake with him, the war-bringing, halo-photographed fiend would be in the perfect position to invade to bring about the Apocalypse his supporters have promised and have been promised. In short, the fetid little chimp that has been placed on a throne and deified has a good chance of being the Anticrist.
Now THAT'd make their heads spin!

17. Iraq actually uses the eagle symbol like we do.
Or did, before the slaughter.

Some newsbot on CNN humiliated herself at the start of the war when they showed one of those Hussein videos and they had their flag and an eagle in the background and she goes "well, I find that ironic, the United States of America is represented by eagles" and the mid-east expert on the panel looked at her and said patiently "many countries have eagles." She was mortified.

It strikes me as tragic that any of this above would be news to anyone. I learned this in middle school and then again when I did some independent religious study.

Doesn't say much for the value of a religious education.

One thing they leave out here is "the whore of Bablyon" the goddess figure worshipped here before christianity and islam, that was eradicated and replaced with only a remnant, the Virgin Mary for Christians. Aisha, the favorite wife of Muhammed is also held in this regard by some muslims. I can't remember what incarnation they worshipped in this region, the bible refers to the Goddess Asherah as "he" repeatedly in the old testament, and some of the names are Ishtar, Isis, Inanna, Astarte, etc.

18. Yes, very silly
and if you get pass the history of Iraq in the Bible, the made up Koran part, and the all CAP threat, you end with the epitome of fake emails:
Pass it on to everyone and pray. Something good will happen to you tonight at 11! :11 PM. This is not a joke. Someone will either call you or will talk to you online and say that they love you. Do not break this chain. Send this to 13 people in the next 15 minutes.

Okay I know we all fell for the "something will pop up" and the "something good will happen" like once. It took one time of my stupidity thinking something would pop up, for me to never do it again.

When an email ends with that, no matter how important the preceding text was, it totally becomes bunk.
