so pay attention everyone, bush's popularity is slipping again. and the day after 9-11 you'd have thought george was the messiah. time to dust off the terror.

1. Yeah. something's in the air...................
and I hope it isn't airplanes crashing into buildings this time. There has to be SOME way to whip everybody into a nationalistic fervor, bush's poll numbers need a boost or how can he railroad the Social Security bill through?
I hope it doesn't cost as many lives as the last time. Is he going on vacation soon? That would be one sure way to tell if something was up.

2. Good morning, mo!
How do you ALWAYS manage to read the Happy Thoughts that I am thinking and post them before I do?

More importantly, How-The-Eff did you beat me to the response I wished to make to the recent "Anybody Remember 1968" thread: "when I was seventeen, it was a very strange (weird) year?!?!?!?"

ONE of us is a sick bastard. Wanna flip for it?

of another LIHOP, or MIHOP. They need the patriotic fever to boost enlistment in the military, as well as to distract from the mess the RW is making of the country. They'll stop at nothing.

37. I must be a nut too
and everybody in this thread so you have nice company I'm sure. Bush is out on tour still isn't he on his SS plan thingie? So they're keeping him busy and could be planning something while everybody is talking about Schavio. Bush still wants to make war with Iran and Venezuela but all our military are stuck in Iraq mostly and still some people in Afghainstain and people are pulling out of Iraq so where are they going to get troops? :\

47. Sometimes I think I'M a conspiracy nut
A couple of years ago, I would have laughed at people who thought the way I do today. I think some of my family thinks I've gone a bit over the edge. It's amazing what a little knowledge about Bushco can do to your thinking. I would put NOTHING past these people.

So, if I'm a conspiracy nut, so be it. I won't be as surprised as most at the next thing they do, because I KNOW what they're capable of. I don't know what they're going to do, but I have an ominous feeling. Then again I've had it ever since the re-selection. I'm glad to have found DU so I can be around like minded "conspiracy nuts".

8. Bush`s ratings have slipped?
How can this be? The media`s echo chamber has been faithfully reporting Bush`s good news about his hard work with nary a deviation.

You must realize...the economy is great, we`re winning Iraqi`s hearts and minds, global warming has been disproven and the struggling little pharmaceuticals have finally gotten the help they richly deserve.

Everything is beautiful.

11. Rove aims for two-fers
US gets attacked, Bush's ratings soar, and he gets to implement the draft based on a national emergency.

The last time we were attacked, the RWers had hijacked the public's conscience and govt. time chasing down BJs. Now we're held captive by a brain-dead woman while plots are likely being hatched outside the circus tent.

It is nice not to have to stop at the border for passport checks/money exchanges now. I wonder how many decades the US is from that. Won't happen in my lifetime. Heck, we can't even go to Cuba, legally.

13. But doing another would be a little much, don't you think?
People would say, well, shrub didn't protect us like he said he would. He said he was the only one that could do it and it's really really hard work.

Wouldn't it have to be something subtle, but still get people to cling to him like monkey? I'm thinkin' a national emergency type of situation, but not necessarily terrorist type of thing, but he'd get the troops he needs, too.

Sounds like a little Rove creativity is needed for this one.

During the election Cheney went on about how you can't pick the wrong person cause if you do pick Kerry you'd get attacked again. :eyes: So it'd be suicide. But then again they're very arrogant now and highstrung on power so I wouldn't put anything past them. It might not be as big as 9/11 but it'd be just enough if they do something. They still have a chance. It'd be too silly to do it right now probably. I think if they do something it'd be after 2006 if a lot of democrats pick up seats.

27. Nah, don't think it's going to happen...
What I think will happen is that federal officials will suddenly bust up a very large scale and imminent terrorist plot here in the US. The press will be all over it, detailing the plot, the evidence, and the lives of the terrorists.

Another attack will not help his numbers, but stopping a huge attack will make Bush a hero. It would, in his and his supporters' minds, prove his policies and actions to fight terrorism were "right" (never you mind that silly little notion that we went to the Middle East to fight terrorists there so they wouldn't pop up over here...). It will also give him just the excuse to recuse his promise to ease up immigration with our border countries, to consolodate even more federal power under the Patriot Act provisions, and to essentially preen around like a puffed up proud peacock...

They make the country less safe, so they can justify their wars.

They say we are more safe when they need to toot their own horns.

In reality we know we are less safe now, for so many reasons (ignored homeland security, pissing off people, more terrorists now than before etc...)

Maybe it (like the Shiavro woman) are all part of their "let's manipulate the hell out of something for our own good" plan.

Yes, call me one of those conspiracy theorists who believe that they ALLOWED 9/11 to happen.

46. 9/11 was a TOTAL LIHOP.
I mean, how sad is it that there's actually much more evidence of the BFEE having a hand in this than there is of Saddam having a hand or frankly, even Osama? When is the so-called "War on Terror" going to start?

And if another catastrophe happens again, with the EXACT SAME SITUATIONS acting as the catalyst (low poll numbers, sagging economy, disgruntled public, obvious corporate control of everything, questionable election results, etc) HOW could anyone but the biggest Bush-tonguing jackass think that it's merely coincidental? You think two attacks under Bush's watch won't get even moderately smart "values" voters wondering if there isn't something rotten in Denmark?

31. On the move
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 04:52 PM by PATRICK
The nation is deliberately wide open to terror without much focus on how and why this is so(i.e. Bushco accountability), the war with Iran is still on track, Jeb Bush's predatory mating game with the electorate for his incredible succession to W lurches apace like a rape game, distractions abound successfully, even with close to a lock on power the numbers and support and the issues slide away from an unconcerned Bushco.

All the lazy bast...s need is outside help again, but this time it must be such a horrific shock that accountability can be breezed aside and even the show of patriotism and explanation and righteous targets obliterated. The fact that the "dissenters" and the loyal opposition cannot concentrate on this fact much less confront public awareness and will leaves the barn door WIDE open. The purge of government has grown so much what can individuals "within" do, blinded as fearful as most them are as well? We have Dem leaders who cannot imagine the inevitable, the telegraphed or the simply impolite sins of the GOP.

There will be no hard work to restore their losses. There will be no concern about forging ahead because an "enemy" will bail them out. Unless of course the majority of America has grown so pathetic that even the shock of national calamity is not needed. But I am thinking they are too cowardly to try to do the right thing now. And it is too late for them to undo any of the enabling of their own apotheosis in Hell. Hell's Bad Housekeeping Seal of Approval.

The Terri Schavio case is good for diversion and I've read here on another thread Bush is still trying to sell his SS plan but everybody on the MSM is so busy talking about Schavio so everybody else is too. I would definietly keep an eye out. Plus with this whole diversion going on I wonder what they're doing behind the scenes. :\
