John Gibson before Fox News?
Did you ever see John Gibson on tv before he joined Fox News?
Read anything he wrote before he joined Fox News?

If so, what was he like?

2. I'm not a fan of his writings, but his essays regularly
appear at the Fox News website, like his recent essay that Jeb Bush should "storm the bastille:"

10. NNDB is like Wikipedia but with public figures
a sprawling database with links within articles...

they plan to link all people in the database with each other somehow or something.

4. He's another "OJ made me famous" guy
John Gibson’s Biography:
John Gibson is the host of the Fox News Channel's "The Big Story with John Gibson." Before that he hosted "Newschat" and "Internight" on MSNBC. He has also been a correspondent for NBC News on the West Coast, where he reported on the O. J. Simpson criminal trial, America's involvement in Mogadishu, Somalia, and the invasion of the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas. Gibson lives in New Jersey.

5. Found this.......
Prior to joining FOX News in September of 2000, Gibson worked at MSNBC hosting the network's news talk programs, including Newschat and Internight. He was also a substitute anchor for CNBC's Rivera Live.

Before that, Gibson served as a West Coast correspondent for NBC, where he provided extensive coverage of key news events, including the O.J. Simpson criminal trial, America's involvement in Mogadishu, Somalia, and the invasion of the Branch Davidian Compound in Waco, Texas.

I also recall that he was a news anchor at one of the SF Bay Area stations back in the 70's or 80's.

7. He used to be one of the hosts
on a hour-long syndicated program called "The West." It came on a local channel every Saturday. I'd say it was around 1990. He literally does not seem like the same person. He was just this vanilla whitebread "presenter" who seemed utterly incapable of being offensive.

To me, for him to be controversial at this point after having viewed him back then is as big a trick to have pulled as Larry Hagman going from the good-natured, All-American "straight man" astronaut to Barbara Eden's "Jeannie" on "I Dream of Jeannie" to TV's most famous charismatic Machiavellian bad guy on "Dallas."

12. No, it was not a political show
He was one of about four presenters who would each narrate and/or go on location with about a 15-minute vignette on some aspect of life in the states west of the Mississippi. I don't recall any segment which wasn't about some community or issue based in either one of the Rocky Mountain states or the Pacific Coast states. It was like a "Parade" magazine of the air.

13. He read one of my emails on the air when he was on MSNBC.
I wrote about how falwell and robertson were part of the lunatic fringe of the republican party. I was surprised he read it. He still sucks though, and if I may get catty, he is one of the ugliest men I've had the displeasure of seeing.

11. As the O.J. Correspondent for Geraldo
He was so down-the-middle, seemingly reliable. It was a shock when he jumped to Faux. It's like his inner demon was released. The change stuck out more than with Brit HUME, whose wingnut bias could ALWAYS be seen when he was ABC White House correspondent---the snarkiness, the cynicism, the contempt he always showed when he was "reporting" on Dem politicians.
