"Christians" to leave roses for Michael Schiavo on Easter--AT HOME!
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 05:58 PM by Bluebear
This harrassment is being organized in part by "Brandi Swindell". You can't make this stuff up.

Brandi Swindell is the leader of a small group of young antiabortion activists in Boise, Idaho

======
http://www.earnedmedia.org/cdc0326.htm

When: Sunday, March 27, starting at 3 PM

Where: Michael Schiavo's home, near the corner of Marrie Court and Frisco Drive, in Clearwater, Florida. A map to the protest site is available online at: http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=1NZfvOp_0To0_LP.CtzQeoW0LKGP5oySm3BYOC4PqlU-&csz=Clearwater%2C+FL&country=us&new=1&name=Protest&qty=

Who: Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, Brandi Swindell, National Director of Generation Life, and others.

Why: "We are leaving these roses for Michael Schiavo to tell him that Terri life has dignity and worth. Even though Michael has said publicly that she died 15 years ago, on this Easter Sunday we celebrate that Terri is very much alive." -- Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition

"As a woman, it is troubling for me to see Michael Schiavo continue to treat Terri as if she were his personal property. This Easter we are praying that Michael will be touched by God's love and healing power." -- Brandi Swindell, National Director of Generation Life

1. So they know where he lives?
If I was him, I'd check into a hotel for about a month until this all blows over.

I'm thinking he'd want to be with Terri at this time.

I think as soon as she passes on, he should go into witness protection. People are going to want his head.

40. It's especially disturbing that they know where he lives because
He has two small children. But I guess it doesn't bother extremist right to lifers that they will be emotionally terrorizing young children.

In addition, it has been reported that Michael Schiavo has been at the hospice for the last 9 days almost non-stop.. which suggests that if they want to leave a "message" for Michael with their roses, they might want to leave them where he actually IS.

45. Michael Schiavo put his children in this position
Edited on Sun Mar-27-05 02:58 PM by neebob
along with all the other patients at the hospice, just as much as the Schindlers put their daughter in this position. He could have given up years ago, handed Terri's care over to her parents, and gotten on with his life - but instead he dug in. I have a hard time feeling sorry for him. When his children grow up, they're very likely to blame him for any trauma they've suffered at the hands of the wingnuts and all the time he's undoubtedly spent and will continue to spend with lawyers instead of them. It's his choice.

Not that I think the roses or any other form of wingnut harrassment is okay - but the wingnuts wouldn't be involved if he had been the bigger person and backed down. Instead, he chose to continue and create this whole big horrifying spectacle that has wasted everyone's time and money and has the potential to adversely impact all of us for years to come. He gave the right-to-lifers a cause.

Maybe he couldn't have forseen that; maybe he just got stuck in a situation with no way out. Personally, I think Terri should have been allowed to die years ago. But her husband - even if the courts are on his side, even if I think Terri's parents are nuts, even if I think what's happening to him is wrong - is no hero of mine. He chose this, for his kids and their mother and all of us.

51. You entirely missed my point- or ignored it.
The point is that these people shouldn't be going to the mans home. Regardless of what your position is on him as a person, the children are innocent. I find that kind of behavior unjustifiable.

Terroristic threats? Harassment (definitely), STALKING?

If someone posted a MAP of my house on the INTERNET and was openly stating that they were going to come over I'd call the police.

It still pisses me off beyond belief that little Son Hudson gets NOTHING of these dear people's sentiments.

than her parents at this time. He was NOT the only person to report Terri stating that she would NOT want to live in such a condition.

"our verbage (feminism in this case)?" Give me a break!?! Your absolutely right about that spin attempt. This has NOTHING to do with feminism in ANY sense of the word. It cracks me up when religious nut cases claim that they support feminism. It has to do with respecting the wishes that Terri conveyed before her heart attack. These people are vampires NOT vampire slayers.

What? Our parents are always supposed to speak for us? Nope, that's far from feminism in my book.

Gee, the horrid LIES people have made up about Michael Shiavo!?! All I'm saying is that - when these cruel and vicious peoples' time comes before Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates - they are gonna have a lot of 'splaining to do. Word.

The woman in the PIC is, in my view, the dark, evil twin of Dr. Quinn the Medicine Woman. Yikes!

14. Brandi Swindell is a nutjob.
She's not only the "National Director of Generation Life" she is also the leader of the "Keep The Commandments Coalition" that fought the removal of a Ten Commandments monument from Julia Davis Park (a public park) in Boise. She claimed it was "discrimination" that the monument was not allowed to stay in the park - evidence of anti-Christian bias (though the commandments are not solely Christian, but that's beside the point).

Here's their website:

46. I was horrified by what I saw on Fox last night
First, Rita sitting there fanning the flames, clearly expressing her opinion and not being a journalist, allowing vague allegations that the courts have found to be without merit to be advanced in a very large public forum. Then Geraldo Rivera, allowing Jerry Falwell to call Michael Schiavo a bigamist and ask why the lawyers haven't dealt with the "fact" that he has a common-law wife and say he's no longer married to Terri because of that when, in fact, he does not have a common-law wife BECAUSE he's still legally married to Terri. Ugh!

I'd like to take back what I said the other day on a thread that has since been archived, that I'd seen worse on CNN than on Fox.

that these crazy "Rapture Rightists" whose only purpose in life seemingly, is to leave this earth and meet their maker want to deny Terri Schiavo that same right.

I mean, technically, she's been gone for 15 years and would have been with God if modern medicine hadn't intervened.

I'm so tired of all of this. My family went through something similar in 1994 and I swear if these bastards had intervened in my family's painful decision I would have beat them senseless.

44. Exactly, as a Christian I honestly want to know WHY they are delaying
Edited on Sun Mar-27-05 01:55 PM by ElectroPrincess
her joining God and her ancestors in Heaven? That (our Spirit being with God after death) is what gives meaning and hope to my life. To be non-denominational, we offer up our suffering on earth to a "Higher Power" and pray that upon death of the body we will have lived a life that would justify our spirit to sleep in the comfort and peace of Our Savior.

When we are in Heaven, all our earthly illnesses, suffering ... all limitations are gone.

Why do these folks want to delay Terri's reward of Heaven any longer? Terminally ill Catholics are not force fed through a feeding tube and IMO neither should "cerebrally" brain DEAD Terri Schiavo. This (a feeding tube) is extra-ordinary medical intervention.

And if these people are true Christians, they would NOT be spreading lies about Michael Schiavo. In Christianity, I've never been taught that "the end justifies the means."

*BTW my apologies (in advance) to Pagans, Humanists, etc., but you hopefully know what I'm trying to get at with regard to the above sentiments.
